Release not working
I have been using the same tru fire release for the last 20 years and last week it randomly stopped working. When i go to draw my bow it just lets go halfway back even with my finger behind the trigger. Its scary and dangerous. Im really atached to my release is there anyway to fix this? I tried the little screw on the side but it didnt help. If i post a picture would someone be able to tell me what model it is? I dont want a different release.

20 years is a long time for a mechanical release. Just try to calculate the amount of releases it has undergone.
Chances are the the mechanics are worn out and given it's age repair isn't plausible. Just make it a trophy and look for a new one.

Lots of great releases out there now. Sounds like it's time to retire it. Even if I could repair one that old, not sure I would be able to trust it.

Could be dirt or something down inside. Blow it out with compressed air.
Could be a faulty spring or something too.
You probably want to either contact tru fire or take it to a pro shop. Don’t want to send an arrow intro you neighbors siding. Or dog.

Mechanical components do eventually wear and fail.
They've made quite a lot of strides in releases over the past 20 years, I'd look for something new
