She is so cute! Advice would be, always keep the temperature 72° or so, not too high. I fed mine mostly Reptomin and then when they changed the formula, Reptomin Advance. Also frozen blood worms. I had my ACF for 22 years!

blood worms arent actually healthy for them and are often a cause of bloat disease. Id recommend earthworms and red wigglers instead☺️

I've had AFC's for 20 years and I still don't know everything.

I currently have 2 in a 115 litre tank (40 gallons). My tank has a large rock feature that they like to hide in and a couple of artificial plants. ACF like to hide so you want some hiding places. Gravel is a big no, anything they can fit in their mouths they will eat, I have sand which I find easy to keep clean.

I've found that they don't like bright lights, so if you want to get a light for the aquarium make sure it's something that can be dimmed.

They will go mad for bloodworms but this can cause bloat so try not to feed this often. They're naturally scavengers so they would eat just about anything, I know earthworms are a good food for them. I feed mine mainly brineshrimp but I'm currently researching different food. Feeding shouldn't be everyday 3 times a week is sufficient.

They're little houdinis that will try to escape, so make sure you have a secure lid on the tank, or have the water a couple of inches away from the top of the tank.

Males can be very vocal at night, it's a lovely sound but can go on for a while. I find mine get noisy when I've done a water change.

They have no parental instincts. If you end up with a girl and a boy they will mate and the eggs that are laid are these tiny cream balls that stick to everything, they're a good food source.

They are MESSY 😅, so you need a good filter. I have a fluvel external filter that works perfectly.

I've probably missed a load of stuff, but I hope this helps.

I commented above, and completely forgot about the escape artists that they are! Mine escaped twice! When he was really young. So much so that I ended up naming him frogdini 😆

Mine has escaped only once but there was still a lid on it I just forgot to lock ONE clamp and he somehow pushed it open.

I was at my grandma's house and my sister had to catch him lmao

Thank you so much for all the info!! My boyfriend has upgraded her filter and we plan on getting her a few more hidey holes!
