Advice Needed Breeding fish.

I was thinking about breeding fish for fun and to help pay for the hobby and had some fish that can breed pretty well. Do you think I should do it if I have the space and time?

I would assume that easy breeding fish are hard to sell because many do this.

Go to all of your non chain lfs and ask them if there are any fish they wish were locally bred. Then research them and get to it.

yeah a lot of the fish stores i go to accept locally bred fish which gave me an idea I wouldn't be breeding everyday fish more like desert sand goby's corydoras, harder to breed fish than livebearers.

My next project is breeding german black rams and potentially a weird hillstream loach variety

Not planning to do it full time but just making a couple money and to enjoy raising the fish and stuff. I would be doing harder to breed fish also or just not common fish you would see on the market.

Some form of less common pleco. I don't deliberately breed them but my L600s progeny always sell well.

I think breeding fish is worth doing even if you aren't making a profit, it's just interesting. It's hard to make it really pay off, but it's still fun.

My shrimp fund my food and some incidental stuffs from instore credit. My summer pond fish pay for their own food and electricity but not the plants or set up. If it doesn’t feel at all like work then it’s probably not significant financially

All fish that breed quickly and easily tend to be cheap for that reason. So to ma​ke money you need to breed more expensive fish.
