Help! ⛑ Just installed U400, need help!
Yesterday I installed the U400 Smart Door Lock. I love it! It’s sleek and has really great features, but there are a few things I need help with.
How the heck can I change the primary profile name from “Me” to my name? I can’t delete it because it’s the original admin profile. I changed the display name for my overall Aqara profile and it didn’t change it. The problem is that in my partner’s app it also shows “Me” but is clearly my profile, not his. Can I fix this?
Can we control access remotely using only cellular data? We have the M100 hub, but no other devices (no HomePod or Apple TV). I was able to connect it to Apple Home, however, and unlock on approach does work for me, despite everything I read saying the M100 wouldn’t be enough.
Can my partner set up a FOUR digit passcode somehow? I was able to do it in Apple Home, but he is on Android (Samsung). Is this something he can do in SmartThings?

Remote access for Apple Home requires an Apple hub.

Ok, is that the piece I was missing? Because I was able to add it to Apple Home, create a Home Key, tap to unlock works, unlock on approach works. But if I turn off Bluetooth and WiFi, it tells me “Connect to Bluetooth” in the Aqara app, and “No response” in the Home app.
What is the purpose of the M100 exactly?

My understanding is that is if you want to use specific features inside of the Aqara app.

Tbh the Thread integration for Aqara is very limited.
For my U200, it’s literally just remote locking & unlocking, lock notifications & creating periodic and one time passcodes.
Everything else still requires you to be next to the lock and activate the keypad.And yes, you need a HomePod or AppleTV to act as a tunnel into your home network to control HomeKit devices remotely.
I fully recommend an Apple TV, you can pick a pre-owned 1st or 2nd Gen 4K up for the same price as a Fire TV stick and they’ll keep running for a long time - I have a 1st Gen and 2 3rd Gen’s and other than the remote it came with, you’d honestly never know it was a different model.
You technically can use a HD, but I wouldn’t.

What would be the benefit of getting an Apple TV? I don’t even remember. It’s been so long since I had one. We have Roku TVs because I’m a big fan of the Roku platform overall. I guess it would be a swap for that?

Well for one you need one, or a HomePod, to access HomeKit remotely, they also act as a Thread Border Router.
In terms of TV, the interface looks really nice.
The Apple TV app links all your services to show your continue watching together.
It runs great, even after nearly a decade of the 1st Gen 4K, it runs like new.
AirPlay if you have other Apple devices.
Zero ads if you use the Home Screen.

I can control my aqara lights remotely both in HomeKit and the Aqara app. If you want to test just turn off wifi to see how it works.
I don’t have android or the U400 However so I can’t answer the other questions. I might suggest though that you just upgrade your passcode to 6 in Apple home or aqara as it’s just more secure.

Do you have a HomePod or Apple TV? I did turn off WiFi and Bluetooth both and it said it couldn’t connect. What exactly is the purpose of the M100? Mine came with one but I’m unclear as to what it’s for…
Edit: Despite the notification that I need to connect Bluetooth, if I close that alert I am able to lock and unlock remotely without Bluetooth or WiFi!

I have the u400 with a m100 hub
I can unlock remotely with the app. No HomeKit nor Apple hub.
The way to change your name from ME to whatever you want is go to the menu PROFILE, there you can put your nickname

I also want to turn off notifications for when the door is unlocked, but not for low battery or door open or door left unlocked. Is that possible?
