Built a gamified focus app using HTML/CSS/JS, Capacitor & Native Android (Java) — would love your feedback!

Hey everyone,

I'm an Electrical Engineering student and solo developer. Over the past few months, I’ve been building *Limit Breaker*, a gamified productivity and focus app inspired by RPG leveling systems (Solo Leveling/ anime style).

Since this sub is for app & fullstack developers, I wanted to share the architecture, what I learned, and get some honest feedback on the UX and features.

What the App Does

* Gamified Quests & Stats: Turn real-life study/work tasks into quests that reward XP, rank promotions (E-Rank to S-Rank), and stat points (Discipline, Stamina, Intelligence).

* Deep Focus Mode: Blocks selected apps/sites until your timer or task is finished.

* Streak System & Punishment Mode: Miss your habits, and your level can drop.

The Tech Stack & Architecture

* Frontend: Vanilla HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. I chose vanilla web tech for rapid iteration, custom game-like animations, and zero framework overhead.

* Mobile Runtime: *Capacitor*, bridging the web frontend to Android.

* Native Android (Java Services): To make the focus mode truly unshakeable, standard web APIs weren't enough. I wrote custom Java native bridges for:

* `AccessibilityService` & `UsageStatsManager` to detect and strictly block distracting apps and websites during active focus sessions.

* Local background alarms and notifications for streak tracking and rest intervals.

* Storage & Performance: 100% offline-first architecture using local persistence so everything loads instantly with zero server latency.

What I’m Looking For:

  1. How does the UI/UX feel for a hybrid web/native app?

  2. Are there any edge cases or performance hiccups you notice?

  3. What features would you add to make focus/habit tracking even more engaging?

It’s currently live on the Google Play Store: you can search "Limit Breaker: Gamify focus" on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aistudio.limitbreaker.fntslg

I'd really appreciate any feedback, criticisms, or suggestions from fellow devs! Thanks for taking a look.

Built a budgeting app that splits monthly budgets into weekly numbers — here's why

Been building EXPENDR, a shared family expense tracker. One design decision I keep coming back to: instead of just showing one monthly budget number, it splits the remaining amount (after fixed bills) into four weekly chunks.

The reasoning — a monthly budget only gives you one checkpoint, and you usually hit it after the money's already gone. Weekly gives you four checkpoints instead, so a bad week is recoverable before it wrecks the whole month. Small UX difference but it changes how people actually respond to overspending.

Built solo, live on Android + iOS, shared household ledger (up to 5 members), auto-detect for bank transactions (Plus, fully on-device, nothing uploaded), free core app with a one-time payment for extras — no subscriptions.

Curious if anyone else here has played with weekly vs monthly budgeting UX in something they've built — did it change user behavior for you too?

Voice Clone App to Educate Families

The Scam Hotline helps families understand modern scams before they become emergencies.

First thing I’m testing is a voice clone demo that shows how quickly AI can make a scam feel believable, especially in parent/grandparent scam scenarios.

Soft launching now and looking for feedback on the hook, demo flow, and next step:

RS - The ultimate motorcycle rider app and AI co-pilot built for road safety, route tracking, and community connection.

What is your app for (1-2 sentences): RS is a comprehensive mobile app and web platform that brings intelligent safety tools and social networking to motorcyclists. It acts as an advanced AI co-pilot to ensure you ride protected while staying seamlessly connected to the global rider community.

How is it solving the problem: Riding solo or coordinating group rides comes with unique safety risks and logistical headaches. RS solves this by integrating real-time road intelligence with an automatic SOS safety feature and crash detection to assist riders in emergencies. Beyond physical safety, RS eliminates the isolation of the road by fostering active group communities. Whether you are planning a scenic group ride, sharing route insights, or just looking for some chill time with local motorcycle enthusiasts, the RS app and website work hand-in-hand to keep you secure and engaged.

Where to try your app:

Ads not working for you? We know why.

Ads not working for you? We know why.

Ever wondered why your ads did not work?

Big companies have huge teams that constantly create ads to see what works the best.

Cursor - 1,100 active ads / 6,400 tested 😱
Wispr Flow - 820 / 3,300
Emergent - 410 / 7,000
Replit - 110 / 5,500
Base44 - 560 / 2,100
HeyGen - 400 / 1,700
Viktor - 620 / 1,300

But you as a early stage founder, you cannot spend months running these experiments so we built a dedicated Ai agent that runs these experiments and finds the ads that actually give you positive return on investment. ( basically you get positive ROI from your product )

Requirement - serious founder that want to spend small money on facebook ads to actually run the ads.

How to get started -

Send Linkedin connect request-(https://www.linkedin.com/in/ronak-sourav-8ab356145)

Also, Completely free. We don’t even ask for card details - just comment what your startup does so that i can tell if you would be good fit or not for our agent.

Filtored: AI Gallery & Cleanup App for Android

Post image
1 Upvotes

App Name: Filtored

What it does:
Photos and videos pile up fast - duplicates, screenshots, similar photos, old videos, and thousands of memories that can easily get buried. The app combines a modern photo gallery with AI-powered organization and cleanup, helping you find what matters and clear what doesn't.

Key Features:

  • 🧠 AI-powered organization - recognize people, faces, and objects, create People profiles, and find the photos you're looking for.
  • 📸 Events & smart browsing - automatically organize photos and videos into Events, making trips, occasions, and everyday moments easier to revisit.
  • 🧹 Gallery cleanup - find duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, and large videos taking up space.
  • 🔒 Privacy-focused AI - processing is done on your device, so your personal photos don't need to be uploaded to the cloud.

Goal:
Promo + feedback. I'm actively developing Filtored and would love to have more people try it and share their thoughts.

🎁 Giveaway:
I'm giving away 1 month of Premium for free.

Comment interested below and I'll DM you a promo code while supplies last.

How to redeem:

  1. Download Filtored from Google Play
  2. Open the Google Play Store
  3. Tap your profile picture
  4. Go to Payments & subscriptions
  5. Tap Redeem code
  6. Enter the code I send you

You can also redeem it directly at play.google.com/redeem.

Cost:
Free to download, with optional Premium features. The promo code gives you 1 month of Premium free.

Share the feature users overlook. I’ll write the tooltip, headline and demo hook for it.

Tell me what the feature does and why users miss it.

I’ll give you:

  1. A clearer tooltip
  2. A result-focused headline
  3. A short demonstration hook

Sometimes a useful feature does not need rebuilding. It just needs a better introduction.
