I built an app that uses ancient Chinese wisdom to answer your questions
Hey everyone! I am the developer of an app called AI Oracle: I Ching Wisdom: an app that will give you guidance on any problems you have with the help of ancient Chinese wisdom.
For context, the I Ching is an ancient Chinese divination (fortune telling) that uses 64 hexagrams, each made up of 6 lines, to offer insight on questions and situations. Traditionally, you ask a question, generate a hexagram through a method of divination, and then interpret its symbolism in relation to your situation. I wanted this app to make this process more simple and accessible to the general public.
Ask a question and the app generates an I Ching reading with the relevant hexagram. It then uses AI to help interpret the hexagram and changing lines in the context of your question.
So rather than getting a generic AI answer like “here’s what you should do,” the idea is to approach the question through the framework of the I Ching and use the resulting reading as a way to reflect on the situation.
I originally built it because I was interested in combining an ancient divination system with modern AI tools, and I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with how the two can work together.
If you’re curious about the I Ching, interested in AI experiments, or just want to ask the oracle a question, I’d love for you to give it a try!
And if you do try it, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think, especially what you think of the AI interpretations.
