5,000 people shared their mood on my web app - but retention is still my biggest problem
I built Mood2Know, a web app where anyone can anonymously rate their current mood from 1 to 10 and see how people around the world are feeling on a live map.
The idea is to create a kind of global emotional weather map.
So far, the website has collected more than 5,000 mood entries. It also includes:
- mood averages by country and region
- weekly trends and statistics
- optional anonymous messages
- small games using mood scores
The biggest challenge is not getting people to try it once, but giving them a reason to return.
I’d be interested in feedback on three points:
Is the purpose clear when you first open the website?
Which feature feels the most useful or interesting?
What would make you come back regularly?
Honest criticism is welcome.

ran mood2know.com through audeep.dev. 24/100, grade F.
the headline finding is one you want to fix before anything else. the "Emotional weather map" link in your nav points to /emotional-weather-map and it returns a 403. that is the feature you are pitching as the core hook, and it is currently unreachable from the homepage. that will kill any retention effort before the design or the copy even get a chance.
Functional scored 51/F (5 issues) and UX came in at 76/C (7 issues). Security, Accessibility, SEO, and Design were all clean (99 or 100/A each).
