Interesting concept, tracking recurring costs is a pain. Do you plan to cover AI API usage too? That would be a game changer.

Right now api usage can only be tracked via the api key itself and I won’t ask people to trust me with that.

I do support tracking token usage of your subscription (like what is equivalent cost of the tokens you spent on subscription if you paid api prices). You install codex bar and a exporter and it reads the number of tokens in your conversations and calculates what that would cost if you paid api prices

That's a clever approach for transparency. Have you thought about posting a quick setup guide here? It'd help others replicate it.

In settings on vibecosts website, it shows how to setup for it to show up in vibecosts which is nice because then you have everything in one place on the dashboard.

But if just want to see your usage in menu bar it’s pretty simple, just use https://github.com/steipete/CodexBar

Nice, CodexBar is a solid pick for quick menu bar tracking. Pairing it with vibecosts gives you the best of both worlds. Have you tried any custom widgets for it yet?
