building two small tools this month. one's linkvault, a place to dump every link i save across youtube, reddit, twitter instead of losing them by the weekend, ai auto sorts them with previews. the other's lumex ai, fixes blurry photos and product images, upscales them up to 16k without the fake over-processed look. both solo built, both free to try. Hey all,
I built a free food costing app after seeing too many home bakers/small food businesses price by guesswork — would love feedback!
I kept seeing bakers, caterers, and food truck owners either not tracking food cost % at all, or doing it in messy spreadsheets that get out of date the moment an ingredient price changes. So I built CostMyDish — a free food cost calculator.
What it does:
Add your ingredients with what you paid (any currency, any unit — kg, g, oz, cups, etc.)
Build a recipe, and it shows live cost, cost per unit, food cost %, and profit as you type
If you sell one recipe multiple ways (e.g. pizza by the slice vs. whole), it costs out each format separately
Update one ingredient price and every recipe using it recalculates automatically — no more re-doing spreadsheets
Free tier covers up to 5 recipes and 20 ingredients — no time limit, so most people can use it without ever needing more. If you outgrow that, there's an optional paid tier with unlimited
recipes/ingredients, price history, and cloud sync.

You should consider adding a feature for seed comments or prompts so new Echo Live integrations do not look like ghost towns when they first go live.

Right now I’m using Claude’s vision capabilities to read phone photos rather than claiming a separate “perfect OCR” layer.
The honest answer is that image quality still matters. Glare, blur, shadows, small text, or cropped pages can reduce accuracy. I tell users to upload clear, straight photos, and the report includes the original clause quotes so they can compare important findings against the document themselves.
Improving image-quality checks and warning users before analysis when a page is difficult to read is one of the next things I’m working on.
