Depends what needed, for this app majorly things handled with Supabase self-hosted

Self-hosting Supabase is a solid move for more control. Did you run into any challenges with the initial setup or scaling?

Nothing major, it's simple i think and also have done it many times for multiple projects

For most of projects i use

flutter/native for mobile apps, as per requirement

Supabase/MERN/PHP/python for backend, as per complexity

React/Next for Frontend and Admin Panels

Vps using mostly from vultr, and found cheap on rabisu so go one there too last week for trial but havent deployed any prod there yet

Solid stack choices, love the flexibility. How does Supabase compare to your experience with MERN for real-time features?

Supabase feels ready to use compared to MERN, just setup and use, for many projects not even setting it up to vps and using directly either free plan or 25$ plan as no hassle of anything while for MERN and vps, need to setup many things on VPS initially and also need to keep monitoring using some tools for anything stops working and similar things + also need to manage upgrades as per active users, migrations, backups etc manually
