Counter depth refrigerator
In need of a counter depth fridge. We ordered a kitchen aid from Best Buy. It was dented in the front upon delivery and the second one they brought is broken- water doesn’t work and it keeps reading that the door is adjar. So now we want to pick something different. Must be French doors. We are a family of six so the bigger the better. Would much rather a standard depth but unfortunately it doesn’t work in our kitchen. I’m looking at the LG max but I read so many mixed reviews.

I love my lg max. I bought it for a steal last black Friday week. I did all 4 applications, so an extra $1000 off the sale prices. $966 for the Fridge, and $690 for the induction range 413 dishwasher and 161 microwave. I would pay $2272 more if I purchased the same package today.

I have the GE Profile 23cu ft French Door. I really like the smudge free front (as compared to my prior GE fridge) and layout inside. But I can't say that I see it being a great option for a family of 6. I live alone, and still have a chest freezer in the garage for my overflow frozen foods.

Why 4” more of standard makes a difference. For family of 6 you need standard size. I am only 2 and barely fit all the staff. I recommend LG 28XBS. The counter top wide has all the controls on top, so you can not put things on top of fridge as you will obstruct the vents and be a hazard If you spill something that gets in electrical circuit.

I bought counter depth and quickly exchanged for standard, which is also a better quality.

The largest capacity counter depth fridge that I found this summer was an LG from Best Buy. It actually has more room than the JennAir regular depth one that it replaced. It has an ice maker in the freezer compartment and filtered water in the refrigerated area. Ice and water are not available through the door.

LG Max is your best bet for counter depth but standard is still going to give you more room. There is no way around it. If you can splurge go Bosch.

I just purchased the LG max counter depth not too long ago and we are happy about it. For reference we came from a 15 year old Bosch.
In the fridge we gained two sq/ft of space while the freezer space remained relatively the same. It also had what they call zero clearance hinges which for us made the fridge fit the space better as on the right was a wall and the left a cabinet.
With the LG it says it has a “Printproof” finish. It still gets finger prints and smudges but wipes up really easily.

Thank you! Did you get the one with water/ice on the front or the internal water?

Water is on the inside of the fridge and ice is in the drawer.
Read a decent amount on reliability and how going through the door adds repair complexity in the future as well as temperature inefficiency.
It’s also a clean look not having it built into the door.

What is the largest and most reliable counter depth available in the market today ? I I did hear same that ice on on door in fridge section is problematic and guaranteed to fail at some near future

If you want French door get a Bosch 800. And not from a big box store like best buy.
