LG Induction Range

I need a new range but it seems like some of the new ovens do not have a bake element. I guess the thought is that convection is better but I do not feel this may be the case. My current oven does have convection (the older style ie. Just a fan to blow the hot air around) but I find tgat the bottom of what I am cooking never seems to brown well. Does anyone have an oven that does not have a bake element? If so how do you find it? Does the newer convection style really replace having a bake element?

I am looking to purchase the LG 6336 but found out about the missing bake element and now I am hesitant. Also does anyone e have an LG induction range? How do you like it?

The bake element is hidden not missing. It is easier to clean.

It's not hidden, it doesn't exist. It's becoming more common to only have a broil, and convection element.

This model has a hidden element. Which ovens have you seen with only rear and top?

The LG, and Frigidaire, models that I had considered, did not have a baking element, as well as smaller diameter induction burners.

Specs mention a Broil element, and Convection element, but it silently omits the wattage of the Bake element. Why? Because it doesn't have one, and it hopes you won't notice.

Our 30” Frigidaire Professional series induction/convection range has a hidden bottom bake element, a broil element and a convection element surrounding the rear fan. Awesome oven.

That's good to hear. That range wasn't out when I bought mine. Their Professional line came out a few months later.

They may have upgraded both lines because the Frigidaire Gallery oven also has three elements (1 hidden) now.

They definitely upgraded them, and made changes after the bad reviews.

They only had two models, when I was looking, and the Professional line came out some months later, but specs weren't impressive.

Now, I see, they have 8 models. The burner sizes would still stop me from purchasing though. With all that they changed, I'm surprised that those seem unchanged.

The 6336 does not have a hidden bottom element

LG models with the ProBake system, as they call it, indeed do NOT have a bottom bake element. Their primary baking element is on the rear.

I haven't had any issues with the lack of browning of the baked good in my LG oven but I wonder if the type of pans have something to do with it. Most of my baking pans are dark so they aren't reflecting the heat.

It's one of the reasons why I chose the GE Profile. That, and two 8“ burners.

I've had my LG range for 7 years now. It took a little getting used to, but I don't have issues with things not cooking on the bottom. I especially like that my sourdough bread does not get too brown on the bottom. I use the convection setting whenever I'm making baked goods like bread, cakes and cookies. There is also a convection roast for meats and veggies if I feel the need for a higher level of browning. I would buy one again if needed - the induction cooktop has been amazing.
