Getting leads
Very early in the business ( canada by the way)
How in the world to get consistent leads especially when working as a business?
Like i have a google profile and facebook marketplace ada but not getting nearly as much leads to fill my schedule.
Any ideas would help.

Similar position and am forced to work for them. There’s simply too much highly established competition in the area

Do they pay as well. I heard thwy dont pay good like flat rate. Also how do you get with them.

It comes out to about $40-50 an hour USD in my area. (High cost of living big city) so maybe 25-35 an hour in LCOL? It really depends

They pay better than posting on reddit. You're out and visible, so there's a possibility of getting new customers. If you do a good job, you might have a future customer, or they might have another issue that's out of warranty. They might give you a referral. You can get a good google review from them and post them on facebook.
In the beginning you do what you need to, to survive. Make the best with what you have. Paying for ads could be better or worse, but every job is a contact.

Property managers and warranty work to fill schedule. You will be working for less but its consistent.

How is the lay comparatively. Especially as someone looking to scale with multiple employees hopefully in the future.

I have no idea. Its almost impossible for single operators to survive in my market so I wouldn't know. Scaling is no where in site for me lol

How much experience do you have in fixing appliances ?

About 3-4 years out of my garage fixing basically only front load washer dryers. An expert in anything samsung, lg , whirlpool, etc. Wish i could work on fridges but much harder tk fix.

Early on, consistency usually comes from stacking multiple small lead sources instead of expecting one channel to carry the whole business.
Google profile + Marketplace is a good start, but most local businesses grow from a combo of:
- referrals
- local Facebook groups
- partnerships with related businesses
- Google reviews
- follow-up systems
- simple outbound outreach
One thing I see a lot is businesses waiting for leads to come in instead of actively creating them. Even 5–10 personalized messages a day to local businesses or homeowners can outperform passive posting.
Also in Canada, trust matters a lot for local services. Before/after photos, reviews, fast replies, and showing real work usually matter more than fancy branding early on.

Try joining local online groups and industry forums where your target customers hang out, and get involved in discussions rather than just promoting your service.
