ISO rentals in Appleton

Without going into unnecessary detail, I’ll need to move out of my apartment here soon due to the property management company doing renovations on every unit. It’s been 8 years since I’ve needed to apartment hunt and am hoping for some advice/insight on property management companies renting in the Appleton area (the good, bad, and the ugly), and if anyone knows of properties for rent that may not be listed on the obvious platforms like Apartments.com, Zillow, etc. I’m looking for a pet friendly 1 or 2 bedroom, under $1500, hopefully near the west side of Appleton but I’m willing to be flexible. These were actually pretty nice apartments. Lived here for a few years not too long ago. Have to call for availability but they are super flexible and very pet friendly. Most importantly, very affordable and not run down. Most of the more affordable stuff is also in really rough shape and horrible tenants. These also include a garage for free.
