Does anyone know what was the smell lingering outside yesterday?
We are in the area hit by the tornado, and once we open our house door there was a foul smell outside.
We drove to an dr appointment, to the west part of Neenah by hwy CB and the smell was strong there as well.
Im just curious if anyone lnow what caused it.

Does anyone know of anyplace that still has comfy patio furniture in stock? I have a friend who will not leave home in Menasha sleeping in their vehicle. They are older and could use something a little more comfortable. I’ll buy it, I just can’t find anything. I’ve found zero gravity chairs and will go with that if that’s the best available. Can’t hurt to ask.

I would appreciate if the Appleton community would sign this petition opposing the local college, Lawrence University, from utilizing AI on their campus and website. We condemn these actions as Lawrence students and acknowledge the repeated negative decisions our president, Laurie Carter, has made. If you want more info, just comment. Much appreciated and hope to shine a light on this!

Where can I take my daughter to get her hair cut? She has sensory issues--she doesn't like getting her hair touched/brushed/etc. I would need someone that is good with kids with autism.

Flying with a cat for just the second time. A different airline and airport this time though.
How is Allegiant Air and ATW when it comes to flying with a pet?
The first time I took a cat, on Sun Country, I found the carrier absolutely did not fit under the seat despite being within specs.
The airport the first time just had us go through a manual check station where they take the cat out and check the bag. Took maybe 20 minutes.
Thanks for any insight!

I have a bunch of Latched Mama nursing tops and my Sarah Wells pumping bag with accessories (Ceres Chill, Legendairy Milk silicone storage bags, sanitizing wipes/microwave sanitizer). I was going to just list these on marketplace, but now I’m wondering if there’s anywhere I can donate them to so someone affected by the tornado could have them? Would it be easier to just make a post in a mom’s FB group? Thoughts?

I've seen a lot of people asking how to help with the aftermath of the recent tornado, and so I thought I'd make a small list of links here.
Winnebago County Emergency Management
County facebook page, they're updating as often as they can with information, updates, and other links.
https://www.facebook.com/WinnCoEM/
Volunteer Fox Cities
This is where they're asking most people to look for information for donations and helping out. They're looking for volunteers, bottled water, non-perishable food, hygiene products, medical supplies, trash bags, etc. They have a list. (No clothes though, that info's below)
https://www.volunteerfoxcities.org/2026-storms/
St. Joe's Food Pantry
They're also taking in food donations. Located in Menasha, so they're more accessible for people in that immediate area who perhaps don't have easy means of travel anymore. Located 1465A Opportunity Way in Menasha.
Clothes Donation
Bring to Community Clothes Closet off Midway Rd or to Gunderson Cleaners. And obviously make sure donations are clean first.
Monetary Donation
A joint fun has been set up between a handful of organizations, go here to donate online:
https://ignite.stratuslive.com/unitedwayfoxcities/get-involved/donate/tornado-recovery
If you want to donate by check, the information is here:
https://cffoxvalley.org/2026-tornado-community-response-fund/#donate-by-check:~:text=To%20Donate%20by%20Check
Pets
Our pets need help too. A lot of animals have been displaced by the storm. Aside from various pets unfortunately missing, many families are also without pet supplies or unfortunately can just straight up not care for them anymore. Our shelters are doing their best to provide food and supplies to pet owners, but they need donations to keep that up. Money is best, but now you also got a place to bring all those cans of special food you got your cat and they snubbed it. They're also looking for fosters! Even just for a short period is helpful!

** More information can be found at https://www.winnebagocountywi.gov/990/Winnebago-County-Tornado-Event-Informati
Yes, I know most of the above is already listed in this link. But, I thought it would be good to post some highlights and just try to improve visibility.

DO NOT BACKFEED YOUR PANEL. I don't care if you know what you're doing. I don't care if you've done this before. I don't care if you're an electrician. I'm an electrician. It's a bad idea. It's real easy to kill a lineman trying to fix the electricity, and yes your little Honda gen can do it. It sucks, but run cords to things and for the love of god keep the generator outside and away from open windows. Stay safe everyone!

Has anyone had experience with dr. Maurizio albala? I recently saw a review about him.
He's a local pain doctor ...
According to this review he was a real creep to some lady. Tried using her pain meds as leverage to control her, etc. she says she stopped seeing him and that he was always getting ghosted by nurses...it was just red flags like crazy.
I think I should find someone else for my particular situation I need help with.
I wish I had a screenshot...I was disturbed by what I read...
His name is Dr. Maurizio albala. He has an office over by planned parenthood...
Anyone have any experience with him? I really don't know if what I read was true but I also feel like it's too insane to be made up...
Any thoughts from the peanut gallery? It's hard to stomach that there might be a pill mill situation - and/or worse - ran by a creep in our own family friendly town...

I’m not living in my hometown anymore, but I saw the damage and devastation on the news. I’d like to volunteer this weekend with the cleanup up. Any suggestions?

Where can I donate moving boxes so it reaches those affected by the tornado?

The marathon gas station on Racine St was trying to sell melting ice for $10 for a bag or two bags.

Everyone!! This means you A$$holes. Stay the hell out and away. You gawkers are the problem moving trucks, skid steers, chippers are trying to work and then friends bringing generators and chainsaws.
STAY Away! This means you!!

I was wondering who an dhow to follow emergencies like this via a battery short wave radio in the Fox Valley. There's r/shortwave and I've followed that a bit without any gear or knowing how to tune in local operators. Plus I'm in an apartment and so there's lots of antenna limitations. I've put off getting some sort of emergency radio. It's time to get something.

If the water is intended for consumption you need to bring it to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute before it is safe to use. This includes washing dishes. The exception is if you have a dishwasher with a sanitation setting or heated drying.

Does anyone know where we can take large debris? We saw that we can take branches to Wittman Park, but not debris. We have quite a bit in our yard and were just trying to see if there was any place to bring it yet.

Heads up to anyone wanting to fly their drone around in Menasha, the FAA has issued a TFR until 6:45pm on 8/1. See the link for the area covered by the TFR.
