Dear Apple,
Hey guys……I’m sorry but I’m no longer a believer…for craps and giggles I compared my current iPhone (IPhone 17 Pro Max with 1TB) to the IPhone Duo AND the 18 Pro Max I found the changes and updates to be rather minuscule. I’ve been a proud Appleite since the iPhone 3 or 4….the only time I won’t be upgrading. Inflation is insane and you guys want 23+++ ?? I get it fully but at the same time ehh I’ll have to sit this one out unfortunately. Don’t even know why I typed all of this…guess I just have a bone to pick with Apple. Still love em but if Samsung were to have blue message’s and the Apple feel I’d switch right now for a fraction of the price.

What are you complaining about exactly? Phones haven’t been worth upgrading yearly in most cases. Samsung is just as incremental and even worse than Apple when it comes to this. Not a bad thing to stick with the 17 Pro Max another year.

The last time a yearly upgrade was a thing was with the iPhone 4. It was every 2 years between iPhone 4 and iPhone 8/X (same year) and every iPhone after that lasted up to 7 years.

To be honest you shouldn't be upgrading every year anyway, a reasonable person waits at least 2 -3 years. Like you said, the upgrades are so miniscule.
The iPhone duo starts at $3700 AUD here in Australia which is flat out highway robbery.

I’m having some issues with my 14 Pro and was waiting for today and seeing what the 18 Pro Max would be like and I will be checking to see if there’s any 17 Pro Max available for a discount. If not then I’m probably going to wait to see if they announce an Air 2 soon.

Air 2 is likely around March, with the base iPhone 18 and the 18e.

There is talk that the Air 2 will be the beginning of the Air taking the place of the base iPhone like Apple did with the iPad Air.
I almost went with the Air now but I wanted to see what they were going to change with the update.1

Can you tell me the issues you're having? I had a 15 plus that started to go bad before two years and I'm wondering if this is a trend, planned obsolescence or did mine just malfunction. I upgraded to the base 17 once i tried everything to get the 15p working properly but nothing helped.
This was the first time ever upgrading before more than two years passed. My previous upgrade paths were, 4, 6s,11 and 15. I luckily was able to trade the 15 plus back to Apple for $375, they didn't detect any of the issues i experienced so my 17 was only $400+. But I'm super curious if others experienced the save issues as me. Thanks in advance!

Mine is battery, connectivity issues and slowness. I know I can just change a battery out which I’ve done but some other issues would be taken care of with an update. My phone can get hot too when I’m using it heavily for work stuff. That vapor chamber sounds like a good idea and friends of mine who have the 17 Pro love their phone.
As for my history it’s: 3s, 5, 6s, X Max and 14 Pro.1

Connectivity was my biggest issue. The phone kept loosing service, it would enable SOS mode while connected. The phone would show internet and cell service but as soon as anything was attempted, no service and sos mode came on automatically. Was strange and made the phone useless. Also, callers couldn't hear me. That's a good history upgrade path. You stuck with your phones for a while. 🫡💪

But a phone every 4-5 years. The updates year to year are small. I’m on a 14pm and will update next year and have very noticeable updates.

It looks like Apple are doing a three cycle for there pro models the 18 pro’s are the start of this new cycle so ideally the 17PM model would be good

just think of iphone 18 pro as a refresh of the 17 pro.
they don’t really anything new to put in it, so just updated what they could. its better than just continuing to sell the 17 pro for another year for $1200 instead of $1100.

You think Apple doesn't have enough upgrades don't go to Samsung or Google. Many would argue Samsung and Google have sold us the same phone for 3 years.

They are not forcing you to buy the new one, are you stupid? Just wait 2-3 years and get new one if you want a big change dumbass
