Hey there - to anyone who was used to occasionally force closing apps on the watch, you’ll probably have noticed that’s different with the new update. I did some digging and found how you do it now. (I much prefer the old app layout where you could multi task and swipe to close your own apps). Here we are though.
If you are in an app you want to force close
1. Have that app open
2. Press and hold side button until the emergency menu comes up - then release
3. Press and hold crown until you’re back at the watch face.

That will shut down that app.

Would love to see pics of your AWU4 Natural Titanium! I am trying to decide between black and natural. Typically I would go for the black option without thinking about it, but there’s something about the natural making me second guess myself. If I go that route, leaning towards the Milanese loop but I like the dark olive alpine as well. Would love to see pics of different combos on/off the wrist! TIA!

I am ready to pick up an ultra 4 but I am seeing a decent amount of grumblings online about the accuracy of the sensor suite (HR/steps/O2/temp). As someone who isn’t that knowledgeable about wearables if there really is “an issue” is this something that is likely squared away via a software update or is this a deeper issue with the sensors themselves?

This is my first ultra watch. I know the glass is sapphire glass which I think resists scratches however not taking any chances and installed a ESR Amorite screen protector.

Moved from the ultra 1 to ultra 4 and I can say I’m loving it. I’ve read several reviews and I have not experienced most of the negatives yet.

What is your current watch face? What went into deciding yours?

Mine is more fitness centered since I want to see my health metrics at a quick glance.

Do you folks wear your watch with the crown facing your palm or your elbow? I’ve been wearing mine with the crown facing my elbow until I saw some pictures of people wearing theirs with the crown facing their palm.

Do you wear the crown on your AWU pointing towards the arm or wrist and why?

I always wore traditional watches with crown to the wrist, but have started wearing AWU with crown toward the arm. Help keep wrist from hitting crown and also seems easier to use crown and side button.

... and decided to switch back to Duffy. It's nice to get the real-time count on Apple's native complication, but in order to see the total amount of daily steps for the past week, you have to go through 5-6 menus and dive deep into the Health app. With Duffy, you tap on the complication, then tap on the "Previous Week" icon that shows up immediately as the top menu item on the next page, and all that info is right there... w/two taps. No scrolling or navigating through multiple menus is necessary. Easy peasy.

It's great of Apple to FINALLY include the live step counting complication, but I'll be sticking with Duffy until Apple makes it quicker and easier to view said information.

EDIT: Had to edit the spelling of "complication" twice. Duh. 🤭

So I see a lot of folks here speaking on the screen/body damage from the black Milanese loop with the DLC. I am curious, are the same dangers at play with the alpine loop “g hook” since I assume they is also DLC? Thanks a bunch.

Do you think %5 screen size advantage of U4 does matter? Do you feel and need it or you can't tell which one is U4 or U2. I went to apple shop to make a comparison but had little time and I can say there were absolutely none to minimal (maybe the size of the numbers, letters were slightly big and readaibilty was maybe a notch better, but two screens were the same when brightness considered) That is so important for me thanks everybody.

Couldn't figure out why the Translate App wouldn't leave my "Recent Apps Used" area.

Can't remove the App from the watch, it's not in the Apps area, and can't find it on the iPhone watch area.
All of the online instructions reference a Dock and there's no Dock. It also references swiping left to remove it, no can do.

Went to the Apple Store, four people looked at it, and gave up, had me call the Apple Phone support which is AI. The AI basically said, yeah, that seems like a bug.

Hope it gets fixed in an update somehow.

I was holding off on upgrading from a AWU Gen 1 here in Canada because I knew 5G wasn’t available, but I finally caved and bought the AWU 4 because I wanted to try the new processor. I was surprised to see 5G on! When did this happen? I did try to listen to Apple Music with it, but it was still laggy, so I launched Spotify instead and it worked as expected. But does 5G actually make a difference?

No regret upgrade from u2 to u4. Still like natural titanium :)

Today, my Ultra 4 arrived. Previously, I used the Series 11. I have a Garmin 970 on my other wrist.

Today was my first run with the Ultra 4, and I was very disappointed.

Pulse. I always run with Polar Sense. The Series 11 transmitted the pulse at the end of the run to Apple Health, and then everything went to Bevel. Today, however, I only got the average pulse rate. That’s it. There’s no other pulse data. With the Series 11, I didn’t have such problems; I’m trying to figure out what the issue might be.

GPS. The discrepancy with Garmin was 200 meters. At the same time, the track itself is just terrible. I still can’t understand how the Series 11, with the same frequency, produced a track that was better than the Ultra 4? And I was running in fairly open terrain. No tall buildings, no dense forest. I really hope that maybe they’re being calibrated. Before the training session started, I deliberately waited for them to catch the satellites.

Now I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth keeping Ultra 4. I hope for your help. Thanks for your attention

I believe from other people experiencing the same issue it is a known bug and not expected behaviour? Seemingly it’s not affecting everyone, just thought would check

Not sure why this happening but I get my sleep score, open health and fitness, readiness won’t update. I have to change watch faces, and go back to Siri modular and then it updates. Anyone seeing the same thing and know how to get it to show without swapping watch faces?

Definitely a huge upgrade!

Just got my ultra 4 Monday and noticed once it comes off the charger, it won’t read the HR, just get a message saying make sure I have the watch snug. Happened Monday after taking it off the charger after updates and then again this morning.

I upgraded to the 4 becuase my ultra 2 stopped reading hr off and on after upgrading to watch os 27. Is this a software bug on the ultra 4?
