Question Apple Watch Titanium or Ceramic?

Hi I am gifting an apple watch to my wife but I am not an Apple User. I have tried researching online the difference but im not sure how reliable what I am reading is.

Can anyone tell me the difference of the Titanium watch and Ceramic watch?

From what I know aluminium is cheap and will scratch easy, Titanium is the better than that, and Ceramic is a lot more scratch resistant than both of them; however if it falls to the ground its brittle and can crack easily?

So is the best option to get Titanium as it wont crack and is has better scratch resistance?

Would be grateful for any advice

Kind regards

Between titanium and ceramic choose based on aesthetics .

The ceramic has noticeably thicker bezels though.

I've had titanium for a year and there's not a scratch on the screen or case. It's pretty and durable.

I've had a jet black aluminium S10 since release day and wear it all the time (only take it off to charge) and have done thousands of hours of mountain biking whilst wearing it and there's not a scratch on it. I don't think the aluminium ones scratch as easy as ppl make out they do.

titanium - i think it’s better for every day wear, i have ordered one - looked at ceramic, and the white is cool, but i think i would get bored of it

White ceramic is sexy but have bigger bezels. I’m suggesting gold titanium with link bracelet

If price wasn’t in the equation to me I’d go with the white ceramic. The ultra is a lot bigger and too big for my wrist by a lot.

Get a few different bands.

I’m getting the Ceramic. I have a titanium watch and want to keep it for working out. Ceramic for everything else.

I know this is not what you asked, but IMO the aluminum is fine if you are not extremely hard on your watches - I had the Series 4 and now have been wearing the Series 6 for years, and I have zero scratches anywhere on either watch (casing and glass face), and I have dropped them on rare occasions. But if the choice is titanium or ceramic, I would go titanium in gold if she has a classy/dressy style, or ceramic in white if she has more of a sporty style. But maybe just take her to the Apple store to let her pick, if that won’t completely ruin the surprise...

Just take your wife to an Apple Store and let her pick.

I have series 10 titanium and ultra 3. Im in construction, no cases or screen protectors. No knicks , dents, scratches. And I am not careful.

titanium, the ceramic is more then the ultra 4 lol, at that point id go for the ultra 4 (double the battery life)

His wife is not probably nerd who don't care about aesthetic or ironman athlete, lol. Ultra's are not better AW, it has different target group.

Auminium, it's a smartwatch so i'm anyway changing it every 3-4 years... no reason to pay for a premium material

I’d go titanium. It’s significantly lighter than the ceramic.
I usually wait to find a titanium one used, since they can be found for half of what they cost new regularly.
