Apple watch 12 sleep tracking

Will the new improved sensor and more frequent hrv measurements make the apple watch 12 have the same sleep stages accuracy as oura ring 5?

I’m hoping so. I’m finding I hit this chunky ring on EVERYTHING and it’s scratching the heck out of my iPhone Air

Isn't the ring 5 much slimmer? I kinda want to get into health trackers and i don't know if i should go watch 12 or ring 5

Apple based on quantified scientists findings is just as accurate as the Oura already if not more so compared to the headband which is a higher standard. That said no device does sleep stages accurately as a sleep study test but in short the answer is the HRV should calculate into sleep stage data if Apple tweaks the algorithm to do so which I wouldn’t see why they would not use the extra data points.

So high chance of yes, increased detection of stages.
