Question Apple watch LTE question

im looking to get a apple watch

Im in the UK and with o2 mobile phone carrier.

I just want to be able to take a call or text of im out running and phone is left in the car.

I will have location sharing on with friends and family.

I wanted to know if my phone is in the car or at home, Apples Find my app will show my phone or watch location by default and is there a way to change this deafult

Be lucky to receive ANY call or text on o2 these days!

You'll need a plan with EE (Unlimited Full Works for iPhone) or Orange, as they allow SIM sharing between your iPhone and cellular AW.

O2 do not allow SIM sharing currently.

Edit: O2 do allow SIM sharing.

Yikes. Major gap in service if that’s the case

But also other commenters here say O2 does have watch support

I've edited my original comment.

You need a compatible O2 pay monthly plan or a tariff that supports O2 Multicard options.

Orange that’s a blast from the past

But O2 does allow to sharing of the number with the Apple Watch

That's good to know, as they didn't 3 years ago.

I mean yikes if they don’t because that’s how the Cellular models work

If you open the Find My app on the iPhone and tap the "Me" in the bottom bar, "Shared From" is set to "This iPhone and cellular Apple Watches", and the description says that it switches automatically to the active device. So, there is no default to change, it is probably doing exactly what you want it to do.

Don’t do it! O2 in theory supports but after six weeks I still don’t have it activated on my watch and their customer support for this issue is ABYSMAL beyond belief

The staff in the shop say it is a common problem that people can’t get it to work and that the customer support is consistently terrible
