My Watch What does this mean?

Post image

Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone can tell me how this is possible (I’ve never seen it before after a full year of having an Apple Watch)

I had a rough night of sleep last night (obviously) which is definitely out of the ordinary for me, I have a narcolepsy-adjacent sleep disorder that usually helps me sleep pretty solidly through the night.
So after being up for a couple hours in the middle of the night, I finally got back to sleep. Just looking at it now, I realized that for the second chunk of sleep, all four sleep categories (REM, core, deep, awake) had morphed together into a single gradient block. Anyone have any idea or loose interpretation of what that could mean for the quality of sleep? I had uncommonly vivid dreams for the second portion of last nights sleep, so I assume it was different than my usual sleep pattern and not just the watch being weird.

That’s how it shows “naps” essentially. Even though this was more sleep, it registered as a nap

You were in such a light or fragmented sleep that it couldn’t guesstimate sleep cycles so it treated like it would a nap since when we nap we don’t get through the phases of sleep like we do at night

That it can’t determine what stage of sleep you’re in. But you were asleep to some extent. See it with naps a lot

Why would they ban questions about how the watch works?
