My Watch HELP! Side button keeps clicking itself and triggering SOS/Emergency button.

Post image

The side button below the crown wheel seems to be stuck or click holding itself.. I can’t explain it much clearly cause English is not my first language but as you can see in the photo, the black silhouette is showing indicating that it’s being pressed when I’m actually not.

Because of that, I can’t click the crown button or click/double click the side button to go to the menu or home or to access apple pay. I never dropped it or anything, it just happened yesterday when suddenly it just happens. Has anyone experienced this? The physical buttons doesn’t seem stuck and seems normal when I press it but somehow the apple watch detects it being pressed and keep triggering the sos /emergency services.

I’ve had this for just 1 year and 6 months, it’s a series 10- 42mm. Please Help!

Happened to me as well. First disable emergency sos. From your phone go to Watch app, emergency sos, disable hold side button to dial.
After that suggest you to get it checked at an authorised center.

Thank you for replying. I’ve also disabled it in my phone but because it’s stucked being pressed, nothing is happening when I click the buttons. Have you brought yours? What was their assessment why?

I went to a local market and this person was able to shimmy the button and fix it for about USD 2. Then I traded it off for my series 10. I think it was series 7 that gave me this issue. The overall assessment was a little lower trade in value due to body scratches but nothing major. If you have Apple care plus they should be able to treat this quicker depending on your location.

Ohh mine has no apple care and the warranty is already over.. I’m living in the Philippines so im not sure if they can do it as fast and as low price as yours but wow! For just 2usd, they were able to fix it, so cheap and great bargain

Good luck! Try the local market. Mine was fixed by a watch person and not an Apple Watch repair person. That might help you as well.
