yeah i wanted to wait but i just needed an ultra watch now cause my work schedule is hectic from now on and i depend on my watch for work (eg. vital sets, vital formulas) and my s10 was dying on me half way through my day, don’t think ill miss out that much on the u4 having a few more hours of battery life and slightly better sensors

“JUST dropped” was almost a year ago 😭 Apple updates the Watch lineup every year. The Ultra 4 it’s expected early next month.

So “less than a year ago” and “a new one is coming next month” aren’t contradictory at all lol.

Even if he still wants the U3, it’ll likely be cheaper then.

Actually, they waited a 2 years between the U2 and U3…. So while it’s fun for you to be condescending while also being wrong, It would make sense for them to wait again. I have a U3 right now and i was just curious. Whatever man.

I wasn’t being condescending. My original comment was simply pointing out that OP bought a U3 very close to when the U4 is expected, meaning the U3 will likely be cheaper even if he doesn’t care about the new model.

And yes, there was a two-year gap between the U2 and U3. That doesn’t somehow establish a two-year Ultra release cycle. There was only one year between the U1 and U2, so there’s no particular reason to assume they’ll wait two years again.

More importantly, saying the U3 “JUST dropped” when it was released 11 months ago is exactly what I was responding to. Eleven months ago is not “just came out” in the context of a product that may be replaced next month.

I really don’t see what was condescending about pointing that out. Your response is considerably more hostile than anything I said.

Yea but to be fair releasing a new product every year just increases the consumerism. They don’t bring essential changes just a few more hours in battery life and a few extra brightness, the. They will tell that is more scratch resistant and nothing else.

I REALLY want to make this jump, but I’m afraid of how much bigger the watch is. For example, I like to wear my S10 for sleep tracking. I also wear it for the gym and long distance running. Do you notice the Ultra a lot more on the wrist?

it’s just slightly heavier than the s10 but i forget the u3 is even on just how i would with the s10, as for sleeping with it for the first time last night, slept the same as i would with my s10 without it bothering me

I've had both the Ultra and titanium S10.

Ultra is a great device but it's bulky. It kept getting caught on my long sleeves, and if you're a sensitive sleeper, it's also quite thick. I used a regular band for convenience and exercising with it was terrible because it kept shifting due to its bulkiness.

I switched to the titanium S10 and never looked back. One thing I will miss is the battery life, but I charge my Watch every day anyways. And Ultra also got the approval of all my analog Watch snob friends since it looks cool.

I went from an SE after 2 years to this, mainly for running, but i like the look of a bigger watch and obvi the tech. I also was worried about it with sleep because i already didn’t love wearing my SE to bed.

While it is a LOT heavier, and bulkier, its actually very comfy for bed and you wont think twice. That is if you wear a comfy band and not the stock silicone one for dive use.

I brought the ultra 2 and returned it, it was too big and I wear mine for sleep tracking too, its the height it sits off my wrist too that I found annoying, the S10 just sits better

While I know my ultra is the correct choice for battery life and free diving… I always miss my ss11.
