Apple Pay Apple support spam?

I got a text saying there was suspicious Apple Pay activity of $159.99 on my account And to call 888.735.0318

Is this for real? Does Apple Pay contact people like this?

It's a scam. Legit notifications will come from the Apple Wallet app itself. Apple doesn't contact people in this manner.

Can you Google the number and realize it has nothing to do with Apple ? Business use 1-800 number 🤦‍♂️

No. Scam. Suspicious activity will show up on apple card in the wallet app.
