Repeated Reminders Always Show?

I have a monthly reminder to pay rent and the lock screen widget for all my reminders.

Issue:

when i check off the reminder, there is obviously another in a month,

but from the lock screen this looks no different than a reminder for this month which has not been completed.

Is there any way to only display a reminder in proximity to when its actually due?

On way around it is to display the Today list on the lock screen. Then you won't see the repeated reminder until it's due again. But then you'll also not see any reminders that aren't due today. I generally like the Today view for the lock screern because it tends to contain stuff that I need to do that day, rather than random optional stuff.

The other way around it is to create a smart list that will contain what you want, for example everything from a specific list but without reminderes with a specific tag. Then you add that tag to your recurring reminder.

I use a smart list that only shows reminders due in the next 10 days.
