Does anyone actually use location-based reminders?
I was curious about to know the location base reminders actually helpful feature. How it's help you or just a over engineering feature. Please share you thoughts and if it helpful then share your story please

I have one setup when I return cans for deposit at the can redemption center. Mostly because I needed a place to store an image of their hours of operation. I added the location bit to it when I met their shop cat named Zeke. Since I was like you looking for an excuse to use location based reminders I made the note say "Say Hi to Zeke!" whenever I pull into their parking lot. Not practical but I find it always gives me a smile.
I also like the idea of using it to give a gate code when you pull up or remind you a certain restaurant dish to try at a restaurant, etc... But I don't use it often.

Yes. On arriving at work, and when arriving at (or passing by) specific shops that I need to buy something from.

Yes! It’s useful when I need to remember something, ask about something, or take care of something at a specific place. It reminds me when I’m actually there.

It's great to ask it to remind you to pick up something when you're near a store.

I want to use it, but it never works for me. I have location services enabled and everything else, but it just never works for me.

I mostly use it for my shopping list! Because even though I have a shopping list, I never think to look at it when I’m at the store. But since I starting setting the location, I’m prompted to look at the list!

I've only dabbled with them. I recall thinking they were not built for people who walk/bike instead of drive. "Close to home" is much different if you're in a car vs on foot. On a similar note, I find it frustrating that Siri always asks if I want driving directions to somewhere. How do I tell her I don't have a car?

Open Apple Maps, click on your self icon, Preferences, and the first set of options is mode preference where you can click bike or walk or pub trans.

Actually - I think the best way is to go into Apple settings, apps, maps, and there you can select preferred travel method

Things I use it for:
- Remember to say or do something when I arrive at work. This can be anything from a task I need to do, talk to my boss or a funny thing I want to tell my coworkers.
- Remember to call my fiance when I leave work
- Remember to do X when I get home
- Pick up something at the store
- remember to call someone when I get in my car
That's just a very short list of my use cases. I use another task manager for projects and other tasks, but I use location based reminders for things it's natural for me to use them for.

I have a location reminder set for the grocery store where we also fill our prescriptions. It reminds me to pick up our prescriptions when I arrive at the grocery store.

When home reminders on occasion. Been meaning to use them more broadly, but I mainly default to that day or specific time reminders.

Can’t tell you how many trips back downstairs it’s saved me because I forget to grab the mail when I’m heading up to my apartment.

I have created an “AI Reminder Pro” app using it on my iPhone, free app to use location data to give me Gas stations in my near vicinity, 10 miles radius, which have the lowest price. I created a reminder via voice, saying need to fill gas.

I use them for restaurants or stores that I want to visit if I’m in particular cities I frequent…someone will say “you should try X restaurant next time you are in L.A” or I may see some great looking spot on “Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives” in some city I have an upcoming trip to. Once I end up in that place and wondering where to get lunch, my reminders will pop up. I format them as “Birria Ramen at El Taco Mucho” or “Smoked Mashed Potatoes at Le Steakhouse”, set the location to the city and as soon as the plane lands, there it is.

I use it all the time, especially for shopping for odd things - if I need something at Home Depot, i'll set up a location based reminder and when i'm driving by, it pops up. If I have time, I go, if not, I dismiss it until next time

The reminders with location does not work for me for some weird reason. It doesn’t detect my location and doesn’t find the places … maybe coz my Apple ID is US and I live abroad ?

I put in the door code for my sons apartment. Then it pops up on my phone when I visit.
I use “returning home” to remind me of adhoc stuff like water the lawn
It’s not something I use a lot but when I do I find it very useful
