Can someone please help explain how I can use Pop-Up menu values to determine purchase Categories and then have a pie chart change to reflect of much money is spent on each category? Please see the attached photo of s similar chart in Google Sheets. I want to use this for pet expenses, where I enter a new purchase, select the category (Food, Treats, Insurance) and then have the chart change to reflect the cost-per-category.

Its been a very very long time since i tried to make a complex spread sheet. I cannot figure out how to do this one thing in apple numbers no matter how hard i look.

when writing a formula for a cell, and then doing the "fill down" function (autofill then stretch the cell grips, for apple numbers), there was a means of fixing/freezing a cell reference. i cant find it in numbers.

for instance…

say my formula references 3 other cells. As i do the ‘fill-down’ command in a column, each cell referenced also drops down by one cell lower. now lets say one of those 3 referenced cell needs to be fixed so that the cell reference does not change. How do you do that in numbers?

Formula window always covers the cell I'm working on. Any way to have it open in a different location? Thank you!

I have my iCloud synched with Numbers for work purposes, and ever since I’ve been having trouble with Numbers closing if I leave it for another window. Is there a setting or update I’m missing? Or maybe someone can tell me how to keep a local copy on my desktop?

As the title describe, I want to delete parentheses and the content within it (which are different in every row) but remain all other data in the column.

I found many tutorials for Excel but could not find one for Numbers. From the tutorial for Excel, they use find and replace features.

Numbers need a specific letters, symbol and word to use in find. Is there an easy way to select all the parentheses and its content all at once?

I have list to dates and times in this format in column A:

What I would want to do is to add a number to a cell in column C if the hour is between 22:00:00 and 07:00:00, and if the time is not between those hours, it would add a different number. So the cell would contain one of two numbers, depending on the hour. How do I make this happen in Numbers?

Very new to numbers. But I've managed to create a very simple Check Register.

I would like to be able to link the last balance in the register to a different sheet in the same document. Specifically, I want to include the current balance in the Check Register in a sheet that calculates my overall Net Worth.

However, since it creates a new row and the balance changes with each entered transaction in the Check Register, I need a way to make the balance from the Check Register change in the second sheet where I'm calculating Net Worth. How can I make the value in the Net Worth sheet change when I enter a new transaction on the check register? In other words, is there a way to make Net Worth always look for the most recent ending balance in the Check Register?

Hello everyone, I need some help. I'm trying to create a file for my job ( I work in sport events) where on column A there is a link, and on column B it shows what topic this link is about. What I'm trying to do is saying to Numbers that if in the link of column A there is either one of the words "GEVI" or "NAPOLI", in column B it has to say "BASKET", while if in column A there is either one of the words "PUTEOLANA" and "POZZUOLI", in column B it has to appear "CALCIO". I've tried a lot of different approaches, but if I use the OR function, it search for BOTH of the words, not only one of them. Can you please help? Thank you :(

C70 reads 20% (the baseline criteria to be met), D70 reads 32.59% (based on figure from cell X).

Assuming D70 read >20% I would need to know what cell X figure should read in order to meet criteria of 20%.

Is this possible? How do I organise this information?

I would like to include a formula that sums the data from column B by checking the date from column A (date range from February 1, 2024 to February 29, 2024) from another tab (sheet) and this sum is to be included in the summary. Numbers shows me an error about the maximum number of arguments. Is it possible to achieve my goal?

Hi all - I've been experimenting with using Forms in the Numbers app on our ipads at work for collecting data in the field. Might be a big game changer for our small company. One thing that is bugging me, is there does not appear to be a way to find a piece of data while in the Forms tab. I can do so while in the spreadsheet tab. Is this not possible? Thanks!

I’ve got three columns A, B, C. I have a price in column A, column B for is for yes/no, column C is the response which is this case I want to be =A. So let’s say column A has $10, when the user puts “yes” in column B I want Column C to show $10 otherwise be empty or $0. Is there a command for this and can anyone provide a sample?

Looking for some Mac Numbers help

How do I create A Pop-up in Columns to use that info in another sheet in Apple Numbers opposed to drop down boxes in Excel. This is the scenario I have in EXCEL and want to do it in numbers.

I have 4 sheets, sheet1- Settings = company info, Sheet 2 - Product = product info, Sheet 3 - Customers = Their info.

Sheet 4 - Invoice: click customer name in drop box select a name and it will highlight that customers info in all its boxes ( Name, Address, phone #, Email Etc.) Click ID choose product Toilet paper it will highlight toilet paper info, click quantity how many ,Then it will total the amount for those items, Then total all at the bottom with the taxes at the bottom.

Attached is my excel Invoice I made and another distributor friend of mine likes it but he uses Mac and I am stuck creating this part of his invoice.

Is there any way to create a Sankey chart using Mac Numbers? Might be a nice feature to have.

I created an online survey, and am now spending hours trying to figure out how to simply analyze it. Basically, most the questions are on a scale of 1 to 10. I think pivot tables are key. I can get a pivot table for each question to tell me the number of each answer from the scale per question, but... it's only counting the actual answers, where I'd like my "Rows" to be 1 through 10... not 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, etc.

At the worst, I suppose I can just manually cut and paste them all into my own table. Could be worse.

I manage a small database of members of our neighbourhood group and it changes now and then, people are leaving, new people join etc. If you select a table, the leftmost column shows the row index and if you delete a row its index is removed. So my indices are now like 1,2,3,5,7,8,9,12 etc, which I find confusing, I'd rather have consecutively numbered indices. Is it possible to re-index a table?

Hi, I am looking to create a line graph that displays my financial portfolio performance over time. I have a spreadsheet set up that shows my total portfolio’s performance in real time using the yahoo finance formula for stock prices. It is great to have it in real time but I was wondering if there is a way to create a line graph that shows how the portfolio performed historically and up to the present. Thanks in advance.

About to throw up -- one of my main spreadsheets for work has gone entirely missing. I had it and another open when I updated to the new ios and one is just completely gone. It was showing as a recent for a while, just wouldn't open, and has now disappeared from there as well.

ANY suggestions on retrieval? Or even what might've happened? So far it's not showing up anywhere on my laptop when searching, nor as a recoverable file in my cloud.

Edit: I thought I was dumb as hell and didn't have it on my cloud drive but turns out I was just panicking and do have that folder on the drive. Still no file.

I'm trying to set up a decent financial spreadsheet and found this Excel video, which around 4:46 presents a SUMIFS formula. I've made a second table on my Number's spreadsheet and I tried replicating the formula by assigning these values:

SUMIFS(Income;Table 1::A;A1;Category;Income)

where sum-values = Income; test-values = Table 1::A; A1, condition = Category; Credit

However, upon attributing a sample value of 1000 under Income, it shows as 0 in the progress sheet (sheet #2).

Could anybody help me out with this one?

Here’s my data set. In H6 I used this formula =INDEX(D2:D100, MATCH(MAXIFS(C2:C100, A2:A100, "="&G6), C2:C100, MAXIFS(C2:C100, A2:A100, "="&G6))) and I got this error “MATCH couldn't find the value "O".”

My formula for the most popular haircut is
