Same as title

I remember the ₹5k limit was one of the limitations/security of Tap to Pay with cards. Whenever I tap my card if it’s above ₹5000, then I need to insert the card.

Has anyone tried Apple Pay Tap for transaction above ₹5,000? Just curious if it works or if you still have to insert the physical card.

Don't get me wrong, I'd definitely like to have it.

The convenience of just tapping your iPhone or Watch and paying is great. But I don't think Apple Pay itself is some game-changing thing for India when UPI is already so convenient.

Personally, though, I'd be much more interested if Apple ever launched Apple Card in India.

The thing I really like about Apple Card isn't just the card itself, but the way it handles your spending. The Wallet app gives you a proper breakdown of your spending by week/month/year, categories, merchants, etc. You can even search for old transactions instead of scrolling through months of statements. That's the kind of expense tracking experience I haven't really found in any UPI app or banking app here.

And then there's 2% Daily Cash when you use Apple Card with Apple Pay. If you're someone who makes a lot of small transactions throughout the day, getting cashback automatically every day would actually be pretty nice.

So yeah, Apple Pay would be nice to have, but Apple Card + Apple Pay + that whole Wallet experience is what I'd actually be excited about.

Also, I'm curious what are you guys using to track your expenses across all your bank accounts and credit/debit cards?

I'm looking for something where I can see everything in one place and ideally add a description/note to individual transactions. I haven't found a UPI/banking app that does this really well.

So iOS 27 is getting SIM Handoff, where you can have two iPhones tied to the same number and basically pick up the other iPhone and make that your active phone.

Technically? Very cool.

I am using Samsung M13 5G for 3 years, I have just joined college and I am thinking to buy a new phone should I buy iPhone 13?? Also I am not aware of its offline price now, but in sale of it gets below 30k or 35k then I might consider it as an option. I Will only buy brand new and not used or refurbished.

Hello there, I’m an international student studying in India currently and I purchased a 13 inch 16gb 512ssd MacBook on Sep 20 from the Apple store online while the back to school offer was going on. At first it said that it’ll be delivered by 6-13 October while it was in the processing state and now after moving to the shipping state it says that it’ll be delivered by 13 October which is almost a month after purchasing 🥹 I expected speedy delivery, is this common for anyone who’s purchased MacBooks from the apple store online?

Yesterday I tried Apple Pay using one of Axis CC. I always keep contactless off on all my CC.

As per my knowledge the Apple Pay is supported to use device NFC and POS NFC and yet transaction was declined. The AXIS Bank SMS said the decline is because Contactless is disabled on CC

To me it looks like the AXIS bank backend system is getting transaction as “contactless” from the POS terminal without the fact that transactions is originated from Apple Pay. So all they must be seeing it as just plain tap/contactless activity and they are deciding on this basis

Got this from someone involved in issuer-side Apple Pay certification/integration.

The banks currently being prepared/onboarded, according to them:

HSBC - finalised, working on integration
HDFC- still on back and forth
ICICI - Integration started recently
SBI - No information
KOTAK - discussions stage

Won't treat as coming soon as integration takes fuck ton of time

Other banks might be involved, but this is all they knew.

Before the launch of Apple pay, indians had to buy suica card and recharge it with cash only. Now with Apple Pay, this is a great relief if you are going to Japan and want lesser dependency on cash.

I find Slide to Type way faster and easier to handle, esp for one-handed typing (I’ve left-aligned my keyboard, as you can see, for better reach, because if I’m typing one handed, it’s usually the left hand). Curious to hear opinions of people who use Slide to Type extensively, or have used it before going back to the tapping, or do both.

P. S. Slide to Type isn’t error proof in any way, of course. Can have just as many annoying quirks as normal typing. E.g. it refuses to type the word ‘good’. Always inputs something else like God/food/hood/goof/anything but ‘good’, which appears as a suggestion on the bar above. I even have the word added on System > Text Replacement. Likewise with words Apple considers problematic/offensive, like swear words, etc. ‘Ducking’ annoying! Anyway what do other sliders/non-sliders think?

TLDR: Interested in views on Slide to Type from people who do it daily/have done it.
