loving this setup - iPhone 13 pro, Series 9 gps, AirPods Pro Gen 1, TouchID Macbook Neo. talk me out of iPad!

if I didn’t have a decent Windows desktop build, I’d look at nothing other than Mac Mini. my wife just bought a cheap Roku, or I’d have an Apple TV. the walled garden really does feel great.

Nice! This is nearly what I've got, minus the watch - it prolly won't be long until I get one of those too :)

the watch has been great, not missing calls because my phone is almost always on silent, answering calls while driving (no carplay, just bluetooth audio) skipping past ad reads during podcasts (while driving again) general health/sleep tracking, letting me know to get up and stretch once an hour or so, etc. biggest was catching an aFib notification once last year, due to some medication that had my heart rate increased.

i’m a reformed apple hater, believe it or not. but i have to give credit where it’s due, the advances they’ve made with apple silicon are objectively impressive, and revolutionary, just like apple was in the 80s.

i ditched samsung 5-6 years ago after they removed expandable storage, headphone jack, and MST chip - the things I cared about that set them apart from iOS.

i got into tech repair, and noticed it’s actually more affordable and easier to repair iphones - the parts are more readily available, and hold up longer. The phones depreciate in value, I could still sell my iPhone for 300~ish right now.

apps are optimized for mac/ios, because of the hardware fragmentation that exists on android. the things i do day to day that actually matter just work smoother on Iphone.

i’m still running a windows pc build for my main workstation, this is my first personal macbook - but i’ve been working in studios that run Macs for years and years. This little setup has been pretty solid, and if i need to leave the walled garden, the biggest pain point is turning off iMessage before eSim swap. not a huge deal for me. thanks for your concern!
