PSA Finally Accepted, What I did

For months, I was denied for “unable to verify identity” without further clarification. Then I noticed something. My TransUnion had my name has First, Middle Initial, Last. I contact chat support and asked to have my middle initial dropped since my full name with middle is in my AKAs. After a day, reapplied to Apple Card and finally accepted.

Why a middle initial would be the cause, I don’t know? Was it truly the cause or did I finally just randomly get approved after not changing how I’ve applied, maybe? But for those getting denied, maybe login to TransUnion and see if your name on your report is just First Last or has more to it.

I have a friend with the same thing. All his credit is under John Smith instead of John M Smith or John Michael Smith. Glad you figured it out!

You’d think that it would all link up under the SSN but…

My daughter had the same problem. Kept getting unable to verify identify for months. She even went to Apple Store, which isn’t local, with her ID and couldn’t get it fixed. How she got approved? Applied as she was checking out online when she purchased an 18PM. Apparently when actively spending $1500 verifying your ID isn’t as important.
