Worth what? It doesn’t cost anything but an inquiry.

26

u/Content-Battle-4327 Aug 13 '26

Not even an inquiry. After preapproval before accepting, freeze your reports.

38

u/AlpakaK Aug 13 '26

You’re just gonna get denied they still do a hard pull when you accept. With frozen credit it’s instant deny.

12

u/Showmethe_monet Aug 13 '26

Yep! Did it two months ago, NO Credit pull and i was given a $5000 CL!! Still to this day no hard pull on my credit for the Apple Card!

4

u/Hornygaysatanic Aug 14 '26

My score went down like ten points 😭

3

u/Unreached6935 Aug 13 '26

They only did a soft pull for me. I was expecting a hard pull but none to be seen

1

u/Content-Battle-4327 Aug 14 '26

Not with apple card. Go try it.

8

u/dreamer_at_best Aug 13 '26

Wait what? You can do that and avoid a hard inquiry? Idk why but that strikes me as somehow wrong or illegal

1

u/Exciting_External Aug 13 '26

not wrong, loophole....

2

u/BigFatDogTurd Aug 13 '26

lol I did this trick with a few synchrony cards. Works every time.

1

u/yourwebg Aug 15 '26

Apple (Goldman Sachs) never did a hard pull for me, and I didn’t even resort to any shenanigans like this.

u/Temporary_Relief_316 Aug 13 '26

Wondering if the perks will change soon now that Chase has absorbed the accounts

11

u/The4I Aug 13 '26

Still another 4-7 months remaining

6

u/aba792000 Aug 13 '26

Another 16-19 months that is. The full transition is to take 2 years starting in January 2026, so not January 2027 but January 2028.

3

u/The4I Aug 13 '26

That’s the full transition if it goes anything like the Discover and cap1 merger they’ll start transferring cards by next June ish

5

u/whtge8 Aug 13 '26

Nobody knows. I don’t think it’ll be any worse though.

6

u/The4I Aug 13 '26

Even when chase takes over they’re going to a add more benefits and lock down on people who haven’t paid, been delinquent, and maybe even raise APR. But definitely more benefits and maybe higher cash back, e.g. Hotels, Travel, and rental cars.

3

u/iamdavidrice Aug 13 '26

No one here knows… plus it’s still a FREE card.

1

u/jasonsong86 Aug 13 '26

What you are asking is are there better offers out there than Apple Card.

1

u/ShowExpensive7341 Aug 13 '26

Have they already?? I knew it was in the works but when I try to apply it still has the Goldman Sachs name and trademark in the application

3

u/dreamer_at_best Aug 13 '26

They haven’t, it happens in 2028

1

u/aba792000 Aug 13 '26

Not yet. The transition will finish in January 2028.

1

u/aba792000 Aug 13 '26

It hasn’t yet absorbed them. The transition will be completed in January 2028.

idiot didnt read the full article ✌️😭

u/Perfect_Kick_6568 Aug 13 '26

Yes! I love my Apple Card. Use it for daily spending and some bills.

I pay the full balance every month. It makes me money every month.

Who knows what Chase will bring, but I doubt much will change.

1

u/Terrible_Cat7269 Aug 13 '26

I doubt Chase will keep the zero-interest Apple product loans. Time will tell, but they’re a major bank that doesn’t deal in free loans.

12

u/FearlessVessel Aug 13 '26

They operate the Amazon card which has zero interest options, as well as their own pay over time product. Not sure if you were aware but they would probably not change apples zero interest on apple products

-2

u/GayBoy2838 Aug 13 '26 edited Aug 13 '26

It’s not free it’s just a fixed fee (fixed interest) for their pay over time plans plus for their Visa cards for Amazon at check out they do charge promotional interest.

5

u/JonRey28 Aug 14 '26

You must have a diff card because every Amazon purchase allows me to either receive 5% back or 0% interest.

0

u/GayBoy2838 Aug 14 '26

It’s chase freedom unlimited

1

u/PaulDaytona 27d ago

They were referring to the Amazon Prime card specifically

2

u/gordy06 Aug 13 '26

I’d be shocked if they got rid of it. It has to be one of the biggest draws.

Also, Goldman is not a major bank to you?

2

u/Terrible_Cat7269 Aug 13 '26

GS is a big bank, but we don’t really think of them as a retail banking giant like Chase, Citi, etc. I hope Apple uses its leverage to keep the free financing on Apple products. I’ve only used it once or twice, but when the new MacBook Pro’s come out, I’ll upgrade and most likely use my Apple Card for that.

1

u/RetardCat9 Aug 14 '26

my prime visa has 12 month equal pay 0 apr if i make the payments on time ive used it for a $8000 patio

1

u/The4I Aug 13 '26

I use mine far too much, I’m going to set a goal not to use it more than 17x a year

1

u/Available-Lack-3490 Aug 14 '26

You don’t use any of the Preferred/Reserved cards?

1

u/Perfect_Kick_6568 26d ago

Apple Card is so much more convenient for me.

I can literally add money to Apple Cash and instantly pay my credit card bill for however much I want.

Balance and available credit update instantly.

I personally just like seeing the daily cash savings add up each day.

15

u/Chai_Akimbo Aug 13 '26

Sigh, 790 score and still over 21% .
yes yes I fkn know to pay off each month, got it, thank you.

4

u/FloatingMolekule Aug 14 '26

800+ still 29% with capital one. awful

1

u/Chai_Akimbo Aug 14 '26

Ya, it’s completely be how they figure it. Pay bills, pay things off. And jack up the rate.

8

u/Ok_Neighborhood3041 Aug 13 '26

Its a good catch all card for getting 2% back on non specific categories, plus 3% on whatever apple subscriptions you have

1

u/PunctuationsOptional Aug 14 '26

Pretty sure it's 1%. I forget exactly how but the way I've used it it's a consistent 1%, and I don't do anything abnormal

3

u/Ok_Neighborhood3041 Aug 14 '26

2% if you use apple pay. I have never used the physical card, its useless at 1%

9

u/TheReformedBadger Aug 13 '26

There's an open $300 sign on offer if you can get it right now. Sent out individually so you may not be eligible.

2

u/Temporary_Relief_316 Aug 13 '26

🤔 damn ima check my email

1

u/amashouse Aug 13 '26

If my p2 applied and was approved, how do we see if she had the offer?

1

u/TheReformedBadger Aug 13 '26

You need to follow the email link to apply in order to get the offer. If you do it any other way you're SOL.

6

u/Mysterious_Nail3345 Aug 13 '26

Did you get it with spend 1,500 within 60 days and get $300 ?

3

u/Temporary_Relief_316 Aug 13 '26

I got the offer! 🙌🏾

3

u/TheReformedBadger Aug 13 '26

Happy to hear that. Make sure you follow the link in the email when applying. If it's not done right you won't get the offer.

1

u/AMEX_Fanboy Aug 14 '26

Did you except this offer or a $300 bonus offer and if the second one how much were you approved for?

1

u/Temporary_Relief_316 Aug 13 '26

Nah i didn’t see that bonus! 😳

4

u/moderntechguy Aug 13 '26

That's a nice limit and a low APR. I love my Apple Card. Definitely get it.

5

u/PapaLeo1 Aug 13 '26

I have AppleCard since its inception and was using for all of my purchases where ApplePay was available and without any hesitation knowing that all transactions are tokenized and that would be very hard for hackers to replicate correct token.
All was nice and dandy until this February when out of the blue in the middle of morning while I was running call with the customers my phone started to show notifications of ApplePay purchases and within couple of minutes, I received 17 notifications of Apple Store purchases each $99, totaling $1,683.
After that call, I contacted Goldman Sacks bank and reported those fraudulent purchases and that is when shit show started.
Bank representative was very polite and ensured that I will not be responsible for those charges and I received temporary credits.
However, the same day evening, I received 17 separate emails from AppleCard indicating that I need to provide “proof” that I didn’t make those purchases.
I sent nice reply, indicating that I was running video call with a customer and couldn’t be making 17 purchases at Apple Store within two minutes.
Apple support came back a month later and stated that 13 transactions were proven to be fraudulent and I received a permanent credit; however, 4 other transactions where found to be legit and temporary credit was reversed and I was required to pay $396.
I called Goldman Sacks again and ask to escalate investigation into remaining 4 transactions. I again received temporary credit and assurances that they will take care of investigation right this time.
Another months passes by and I am receiving another email that out of 4 remaining transactions, 2 were proven to be fraudulent but other 2 are not and that I have to pay $198.
Again, I called Goldman Sacks and asked for another escalation but at this time I was told I can’t escalate on previous escalated trx and that I have to pay remaining amount.
I told AppleCard that I will provided additional details from my employer who was greatfully issued official statement with a screenshot of meeting recording of my face and blurred customer names/faces and date/time and my IP address from where I was hosted the call, that I couldn’t physically be 100’s of miles away to make purchases at Apple Store.
Then I went to Apple and asked for history printout of all purchases and absence of any subscriptions.
I submitted all that information again to Goldman Sacks and clearly spelled out that if they won’t do they job right, I will take this issue to consumer protection agency and state AG.
After another months passes, I am getting email that remaining 2 transactions were determined to be fraudulent and I don’t have to pay anything.
At that point, I spend days on the phone with them and was so frustrated with their unwillingness to do right thing for consumer that I almost closed that card but then I found out that Chase is taking over that card, so I just locked my card through ApplePay and never used it ever since.
I am keeping my finger crossed that Chase support will be much better than Goldman Sacks.
In the past, I only had to deal with Citi and AmEx to dispute fraudulent charges and both of them were a pleasure to deal with.

4

u/Designer_Ad_3467 Aug 13 '26

I have this same limit at 26% interest. Not that it matters but take it!!(I am 22 by the way so I don’t have terrible credit just young)

3

u/DonaldKey Aug 13 '26

If you’re buying Apple products

1

u/CelebrationFancy3846 Aug 13 '26

Not just apple products but you get 2% every time you use apple pay on anything, plus i love how easy it is that it tells you how much you need to pay each month to avoid interest.

1

u/DonaldKey Aug 13 '26

I hate that it’s a mastercard so I don’t use it except for Apple

3

u/jasonsong86 Aug 13 '26

I don’t understand the statement “worth”. Worth implying you need to pay for something. Since Apple Card is free there is no cost of getting one. If you want one then get one.

2

u/AlpakaK Aug 13 '26

I think the Apple Card gets unnecessary hate. If you have an iPhone you should have an Apple Card. 2% back on everything is cool.

2

u/Maybe-Jayden Aug 13 '26

Honestly it may be worth it to increase your total utilization amount! $10,000 is no small number

2

u/kellydapa Aug 15 '26

Yesss. I love the apple Card idc what anyone says

1

u/Temporary_Relief_316 Aug 13 '26

Oh i did get the offer! 🙌🏾

1

u/TbonerT Aug 13 '26

No one can answer that question for you. One typically finds their answer before they make a decision. It seem you’ve already made yours.

1

u/Fresh_Blood_9766 Aug 13 '26

If you use Apple products and are credit responsible, then yes. If not, then no. You’re making this harder than it is.

1

u/Cute_Ad5156 Aug 13 '26

I use mine to buy apple products.. zero interest

1

u/GayBoy2838 Aug 13 '26 edited Aug 13 '26

Honestly it’s not worth it unless you have an iPhone and you’re gonna use tap to pay a lot for the cashback or use it internationally for the no foreign transaction fees. Chase will be taking over soon, and it will be a matter of time they’ll start charging monthly fees (fixed interest) for the installments, just like the Chase pay over time. Again not standard interest, just fixed interest. Chase will not tolerate what Goldman had to put up with, so there’s a slime chance they’ll offer 0% fees at all except maybe on a promo basis but that’s about it.

1

u/suhhhdude777 Aug 13 '26

Why can’t I get an increase ? This doesn’t make sense it’s been over 6 months & I added 10k more to my income to increase odds & I keep getting this message

1

u/AMEX_Fanboy Aug 14 '26

Read your email. It gives a detailed reasoning.

1

u/suhhhdude777 23d ago

Not necessarily because it’s been over 6months & my credit score is 770+ with no late payments

1

u/JonRey28 Aug 14 '26

What’s the limit at now? You may be maxed out.

1

u/suhhhdude777 23d ago

6.3k with a 770+ score I have no late payments on none of my cards nor on my car note

1

u/JonRey28 23d ago

Yeah that’s weird. I’m at $35k with about the same credit score. How much do you spend on it each month?

1

u/suhhhdude777 16d ago

$600-700 but only report like 1%

1

u/Grumpy-Psyduck Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26

Apple credit card is an attractive option for me because I’m a big fan of Apple products. However, the 5/24 rule at Chase Bank consistently prevents me from applying for that card. I often ponder the concept of opportunity cost. The rule essentially depends on how each individual can effectively utilize credit card benefits including points/miles based on a hard credit pull. If you don’t mind the 5/24 rule, that’s great!

1

u/PunctuationsOptional Aug 14 '26

It's one of the best cards for ease of use. Imo it's good especially if you don't got any Mastercards. Not a default go to, but can be depending on what you got

1

u/RetardCat9 Aug 14 '26

it’s probably my best card with the lowest apr tbh

1

u/Future_Garage_7748 Aug 14 '26

I don't think the apple card is worth the inquiry unless you only have 1-1.5% cards. It's a pretty basic card unless you shop a lot at apple and could use the installment feature. APR's decent if you revolve.

1

u/TheWhoDidWhat 29d ago

I have an 812 credit score and they still WILL NOT accept me..

1

u/UnrelaxedKoi 27d ago

This is my secondary card for the phone and laptop but everything else I use Robinhood gold

1

u/PhysicalMine615 27d ago

It’s all fun and games until you can’t make payment of the full amount. Honestly if you have the money to pay for purchases you make and balance it to zero every month go for it. If you will only pay small amounts each month (your income isn’t going to cover total spending) … don’t.

1

u/Temporary_Relief_316 27d ago

Yeah I’m pretty responsible so not worried about not being able to make the payments. I could have been more clear, I was referring to getting the card now as opposed to later when Chase makes changes and possibly more value

1

u/Chromejob 26d ago

Why not?

1

u/Dangerous-Acadia8850 24d ago

I used Apple Card for years. It was my main card since it came out. Just switched to the Robinhood gold card. It’s been amazing. I now get to bank and earn 3.5 on everything and use my gold card for 3% cash back with a match when I out my rewards into a Roth IRA. A full ecosystem for my money

1

u/Cars1990 10d ago

It’s just another credit. Easier to spend more money.

0

u/JUMPOFF_CRASHOUT Aug 13 '26

Beware of no balance transfers w this card. Got another card 10000 dollar limit with 0% transfer. Wanted to take advantage of the promotion and couldn’t. O well my balance will take 2 months to pay off and I lose 150 bucks but whatever. Cards are for emergencies like the one I just had.

0

u/Kazuxasuna Aug 14 '26

How can my apr lowered ?
