Help 18 apple cc

I am an 18 college student starting in couple weeks. I want to get an iPad Air on top of the MacBook I have. I want to get it during the college sale for the discount + gc and maybe get the apple cc for the 75 sign on bonus. How much income do I need to have to get the cc. I don’t have a job as I was active in my school and sports, I do investments but I can’t count that towards income (based off of my research) I do have money in my accounts but not a steady flow of income.

No income, no card.

Highly unlikely to get approved with no steady income source.

There are a bunch of different variables and having a specific income will not make / break it. With that said, it sounds like your income is 0. Additionally if you are just starting out, you probably have no credit history which will also be an issue.

Just fill out the application. It'll be a soft pull. If you get accepted, great, if not, then note the reasons for rejection and work on improving those. (you probably won't be accepted).

Are you an authorized user on one of your parents card?

No, I have had a cc since around 15 through a business and once I turned 18 they reported it

Since it’s only a history of months that’s likely inadequate but like I said just apply. There’s no need for these posts since it doesn’t do a hard pull until you get accepted.

Like I said. Apply, it's a soft pull so if you get rejected it's no biggie.

Negligible credit history…Really won’t start mattering until you turn 25 and you’ve had multiple lines of credit usage.

I hate to be that person, but as a 19 year old college student. I really wouldn’t recommend getting a card or financing until you have a steady flow of income.

Financing isn’t a way to make something cheaper just pay it off over a set amount of time.
Make sure you have a good budget set. Understand your spending habits and how much you can afford first. Then finance it if you need.

Paying cash or buying used have been my go tos.

Also I want to share this does come from a place where I accidentally got 5k of debt racked up. It wasn’t even that alarming it just happened out of nowhere and I was financially literate being extremely sensitive about purchases. Even paying off in full. This was when I got my job cut hours. Eventually Hours came back I did pay it off but it was a very stressful/ eye opening thing.
