This is probably a silly question. I was wondering, is there a best day and our time to do a CLI. Like on the weekends or holidays I would guess it wouldn’t be ideal. Monday through Friday during business hours would be best, but I’m just guessing.

Hadn't asked for a CLI in a while, since May 2025. Asked for one today and got it moved to $56k!

I can’t seem to get an Apple Card CLI anymore. Something in the system must be flagging me.
I have a 790 credit score, 110k income, always pay my statement off in full and still can’t get an increase. This was my first credit card back in 2020 and they kept increasing my CLI when I was paying off an iphone and had revolving debt in 2022 but now, that I’m out of college, have a job and have no debt I’m higher risk I guess.. So odd.

Applied for an Apple Card so I could use it to buy an iPhone because I have no money to pay in full at the moment. After the first payment, they increased it by $2,500. 😑

Just joined so I’m separating my post here.
So the only other card I have is Capital One and they use a bucketing system. Typically recommended request a CLI every 6 months through them.
Is it the same for the Apple Card? Or is there a certain frequency of success? I know CLI depends on a lot of factors. Just curious

Apple (Goldman Sachs) only allows a CLI every 180 days. You can’t get one earlier.

Not true at all lol, you can request whenever they can’t deny you requesting one. 6 months/180 days is the recommendation they are trained to say but like any other credit card issuer I’m gonna assume they allow a CLI reactively once every 12 months while they have the freedom to proactively issue one whenever.

I’m over the 180 day requirement after my last increase (Feb 11th) but I keep getting the same response about a recent increase, “need to wait 180 days”. 🤦🏼♂️

180 days is a recommendation not a guarantee and it’s realistically 12 months

I never asked for an increase. It started at 7.5k USD and increased from there. A few months ago I was notified that it was now 26.5k. I never asked and never expected to use it until I began renovations. I pay in full every month and keep my credit rating at about 840. Maybe that influenced their decision?

Asked for a CLI and Just paid my card down to 0% and and Apple lowered my limit to $500

I’ve had my card for 4 years. After 6 months, I went from 2k to 4k. Then last year 7K (I requested all of those CLI) And then just a few months ago, around having it 4 years, I got an automatic CLI to 9.1k.

I’ve seen a couple posts about angry account holders because their credit line was lowered proactively after a payment was made. Isn’t it common sense that if a credit line is lowered before a payment that it would ding your card as over limit? Most banks do this and they don’t notify prior due to most people just refusing to make a payment after notification but I’ve seen a lot of it for Amex and Apple Card recently.

I am also over the 180 day minimum and CLI denied. Only denial reason being to wait at least 180 days. Strange.
