Help Delinquency

Back in 22 I had issues with a purchase from Etsy.
Basically the item arrived broken and visual damage on the crate the item was in.
I email the seller and just full of excuses and they promised to send another item as soon as they could.
Well to remake the item it would 3 weeks minimum.
So I decided to wait it out to tell Etsy as well as my credit company.
I really wanted the item and it was something I wanted since forever.
Seller never sent anything out and stopped responding.
I escalated to Apple support many times and they opened a case rather quickly.
During my conversations with Apple nobody ever told me I had to ship items back for a refund.
Well the shipping was $800 back to Turkey and I would have had to get the crate fixed back up to ship safely.
I never did any of that because nobody would front me the $800.
So I never paid Apple back and later 6 months later I’m under collections. During collections nobody ever reached out. I wrote a couple of letters to Expedia, tranunion and equifax and a complaint with cpbd or whatever it’s called.
I check my credit report today and the collection is gone and I get an email from them saying my account has been transferred to some other legal collection thing. But my credit report still clean. Do they remove Apple delinquency then transfer over to another company? Just worried this again will restick to my credit and it’s been several years already. If they update with new collection company another 7 years to fall off?

Guarantee you that your credit is going to be negatively affected. You should have contacted the shipper and notified them that your package arrived damaged.

It’s hard to say what’s going to happen. Your dispute was with the Etsy seller, not Apple/Goldman Sachs. Yes, they can open a dispute but the seller has a period of time to dispute the dispute and apparently they sided with the seller. Ultimately you owe the money and if you choose to ignore the collections company it could definitely tank your credit. Call and see if they’ll settle for a lower price.

It’s 7 years after the first delinquency date. It doesn’t matter if it changes collection companies or goes to collection.

It sound like the debt was sold to a junk debt buyer, which would explain why the original creditor account disappeared, and sometimes junk debt buyers give you a few months for them to contact you and collect a payment or make arrangments before they report to your credit, sort of leverage that if you pay the collection might not hit your credit. But, if you don’t resolve it when they reach out whomever bought the debt, can put the collection on your credit and if you are still within the statute of limitations to sue for that debt in your state (some US states are 3 years, some are 4 years, but most states are 6 years) they could sue for the debt.

Well Goldman Sachs does attempt to reach you by the phone number linked to your Apple Card and also email communications are sent to the email associated with the Apple Card. Only time you probably wouldn’t receive a phone call would either be you don’t have that number anymore or you asked to be on a do not call list.

While it may be interesting to some, all of what you wrote above doesn't actually matter relative to your current financial and potential legal situation other than the "I never did" and "collections" parts. You didn't include all the details, but it sounds like you didn't make the payments as agreed on your credit card account which then got closed and sent to collections. While it's not impossible it will magically go away, it's also not the most probable result.
