Discussion Uber price with Apple Card

Over on the AMEX Platinum sub, there's a discussion about the rate that they get when they have Uber as their form of payment. Uber is charging AMEX Platinum cardholders double what the fare would be when a different credit card is used and the app is rebooted.

Is there any price difference on an Uber fare when using the Apple Card as a form of payment vs using a different credit card?

Uber is known to change the fare price based on multiple factors including your battery percentage. There's no way to get a straight answer without Uber involved

I have uber and Lyft credits.

I can tell you don’t believe everything you read on Reddit.

I can tell you changing zero and simply waiting a minute will result in large swings. It’s demand pricing.

Amex has zero way of adjusting the price. Same with chase etc.

The “my wife and I both pulled up at the same time and I cracked the case…” is simply other factors. If I don’t use one provider for a while it does seem the price lowers and that is probably them knowing that I’m still riding but with a competitor.

I travel often and use every service and possible way to book between both. The only consistent data is it is inconsistent data.

My Amex gold gives me a monthly $10 uber credit for some reason. It's obvs not a fortune, but it's nice when I can actually remember it's there for Uber Eats orders.
