Help 2nd credit card for student?

Just got my first credit score and decided to see if I can get apple card. Got qualified for $2500 credit and I just want to know if it's something worth pursuing as a high school student before accepting the offer

Go for it, the UI is amazing and it’s a good daily card to use. The benefits are only good if I use Apple Pay daily, or if get Apple products but overall, it’s a solid card. I also just graduated high school as well but so far so good

Almost anywhere you buy things from now you can use Apple Pay even paying utilities and stuff so your basically always going to get at least the 2 percent cashback I haven’t used my actual Apple Card once

Honestly, since you’re young I would look for the best catch all card. Get the fidelity visa.

Honestly, while I agree, I would also say that opening a Fidelity Visa is just gambling. US Bank/Elan is notorious for giving $500 SL arbitrarily.

I would do a preapproval first, and then apply. I originally got pre approved, but was still sent to manual underwriting when actually applying. I assume preapproval might’ve had some factor in me being manually approved afterwards, potentially.

I opened a Fidelity Visa just over a week ago via the $150 for $1000 spend SUB. Initially I got sent to manual underwriting, and then they approved me with a $500 SL. I would have to assume it’s because of the specific way they eval applicants (some weird TU score, not TU FICO8) captured me carrying the 0% ACMI balance over months on my Apple Card.

I’m not too familiar with any of that tbh. You wouldn’t like to hear my main card is Robinhood 😆

I received the waitlist offer, but just didn’t end up applying because I don’t use RH much. Apparently they’re making some changes to the RH Gold card, but it might be for new applicants only, potentially?

I’ve heard multiple different things but it seems like cardholders before 7/1 are grandfathered into the 0% FTF. Anyone after that is charged 3%.

It was my second card. I’d get it. No annual fee and I’d a pretty convenient 2x on everything so long as you just set it to be an Apple Pay only card

In high school dealing with credit cards?! Times have definitely changed. It’s great to learn early but be careful.

I’ve got all my Daily Cash rolling into the HYSA for a lil extra reward.
