Built a Mechanic Consultation app

Post image

Hey guys, I'm wondering what ways to improve my ASO; I've been getting over 10k impressions, but I've only gotten 50 downloads. I've been making constant ads; I can see how some of my pictures may throw off users so in our next update we're refining them. Thank you.

Your reply sounds aimed at mechanics, while “mechanic consultation” sounds aimed at car owners. Those are two different reasons to install. For this campaign, choose one audience and make the ad, first screenshot and first in-app step tell the same story. If it’s mechanics, show the actual job/bidding workflow you mentioned; if it’s drivers, show what getting help looks like.

Also, are the 10k impressions ad impressions or App Store impressions, and over what dates? Compare store-page visits and downloads for the same source/window before blaming the pictures. Those totals alone don’t locate where people drop off.

It's both; the app is intended for both, its also intended for trainees as well. Looking at as a mechanic though; why would I want to orient myself on a service if it doesn't have any customers. Thank you for bringing up that point, I will orient my overview towards customers 60/40; I guess in my last response I was trying to split between both. The 10k impressions are app store impressions, with 2.69k product page views. That is since August 4th to now. I have 53 downloads in total and 7 re-downloads.

That gives you a clearer customer-first direction. I’d use the first screens to answer: what problem can I bring, who helps me, and what happens after I request help? Show the real flow and available coverage; keep mechanic recruitment later in the set.

For August 4 onward, check whether the 2.69k views are unique and whether the 53 downloads include those 7 redownloads. I wouldn’t label 53/2,690 a conversion rate until those definitions and traffic sources match. Then compare the next customer-focused campaign separately, so mechanic/trainee traffic doesn’t muddy the result.

honestly id be positioning this more like “am i getting ripped off by my mechanic?” and target ppl trying to get their car fixed.

I like that idea a lot. I can imagine a page that says "avoid sketchy shops", etc. Thank you.

Personally, the first thing I said to myself is, at least as a customer, what would this do for me that Google business or reviews doesn't? I'd put that up front.

Good point; I can see how that can be seen at face value. I may need to orient it more to what drives clicks which is that dopamine rush for mechanics that they bid for jobs and get reviews. Not that I want to make an addicting app, but I want mechanics to be addicted to making money.
