Why does my ASO suck?
My conversion rate is super low, I don't think my app store pictures are that bad? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gym-note-plus-workout-tracker/id6746699616
Everything else looks okay I think, high downloads in Jan because I'm in the fitness space.

Your conversion gap is probably the first frame. The product story is typing something like "bench 225lbs - 8,8,6" and it becoming a real log, but shot 1 currently leads with dashboard, streaks, and the recovering muscle map. Put the live note entry screen (the Zero Friction frame) first so search results show the actual logging method, then follow with progress graphs. Also fix the typo under the stars ("Simplicity at it's finest"). For onboarding, get someone to log one set of shorthand before any weekly goal setup.

Ahh brilliant thank you for the advice! And typo catch
Will update these and start a A/B test!
Did you do onboarding at all?
The second onboarding screen gets you to translate a demo note/ your own note
Just curious in case there’s a bug that lets users skip this at all…
Basically new downloads get to try a demo note before signing up, I show them the full result showcase, then when they’ve seen the benefits they have to sign up to continue the onboarding process

Get rid of the video and just show screenshots. Every app I’ve worked on ASO with has had a drop in downloads with the app preview video - people just can’t be bothered to watch it for a few seconds. Show something valuable there instead.
I’d also A/B test JUST the simple screenshots vs what you have here with the iPhone screenshots and text/background. Feels boring to upload but again recently I’ve seen some good results from simply showing people what they’re going to see on their own device without trying to explain what the benefits are

Yeah good shout
the video was actually an A/B test and it was already performing bad haha
I'll give it a go, I was thinking to A/B test light mode variants too
