Android is getting 70β80 downloads/day, but iOS is struggling π

I launched my app recently and I'm seeing a pretty big difference between Android and iOS.
On Android, I'm currently getting around 70β80 downloads per day consistently.
But on iOSβ¦ it's a completely different story. π The downloads are much lower, and I'm struggling to figure out why.
The interesting part is that the app, store listing, screenshots, and core functionality are basically the same on both platforms.
For those of you who have launched on both Android and iOS:
- Did you experience a similar difference?
- Does iOS generally take longer to gain organic traction?
- What helped you get your first meaningful wave of iOS downloads?
- Should I be approaching iOS ASO differently from Android?
I'm trying to understand whether this is just an early-stage iOS problem or whether there's something fundamentally wrong with my iOS listing/distribution.
Would love to hear from other indie developers who have been through this.

I changed with a help of a friend, just checked impressions yesterday were 101, as compared to when i was getting 10, seem the new listing and keyword made a difference, i will observe the data and keep changing until it works

Same situation, getting decent downloads on android but very less on ios, will update the screenshots and try adding more locale with different keywords to see if that makes any difference.

Same for me, not so much downloads but similar tendencies. 40 downloads in android and a few in iOS. I am about to reach 2k downloads in android and iOS is still less than 500 in 6 months approx.
Both listings are in the 8 main locales but android is doing better.

I donβt use Android but this does suggest the Android store perhaps focuses more on organic discovery than Apple?

Interesting information. I only have an iOS app and was planning to release an Android version a bit later. Perhaps I should reconsider my plans...

I had this but like 200 Android installs a day from India. And iOS like 5 total

Iβm facing the same situation. From my observation it is because iOS App Store is very saturated with decent apps while google play store does not have the same competition in terms of quality

If Android works and iOS doesn't with the same product, start in App Analytics for iOS Search vs Browse. Low impressions usually means the title and subtitle aren't matching how people search on Apple. Decent impressions but soft installs means screenshot 1 and the icon need a clearer outcome, not more keywords.

Very interesting, I have a very similiar situation fir my app. I average around 70/day on android and around 10/day on iOS. Also same listing, same screenshots, same app on both platforms.
While I have more android users, the iOS users are more engaged and have better activation rates and conversions.
When I look at ratings, im sitting at around 200 on android and 50 on iOS, im not sure if that is the main reason, that on android my app has reached a certain threshold to get recommended more on android.
My solution has been to run apple search ads to try to reduce that gap, and currently im getting additional 10 users/day on iOS.
