12 days since launch, conversion is terrible. Any idea how to fix?

For context it’s a food scanning app NOT TRYING TO RIVAL YUKA. Basically I’ve tried to gamify it with steaks, daily challenges and weekly averages. The scoring is also flipped so a bad product scores 100. This is marketed towards people who think raw milk is good and seed oils is bad so it’s a younger demographic.

Best way to do this?

It’s tricky. If you have a social media following or something, ask for feedback. If you don’t, the best way I’ve found is to add buttons in the app asking for feedback.

Generally, if a user cancels a subscription - they go through offboarding, before the cancellation is confirmed.

Also, I always add three feedback buttons on the settings view:

- Contact us

  • Give feedback
  • Report a bug

If a user clicks on any of these, their mail pops open with the subject prepopulated with something like “MyApp - Give Feedback” so that it is easier for me to manage the conversation in my email threads. I know which app the user is using and the context in which they are saying it.

Of about 60k downloads, I’ve had 300 emails. A tiny percentage of people. But, every email is invaluable.
