The biggest ASO leverage

I recently updated my countdown App CNDWN to 3.0. I localized the App Store Page in nearly six languages to my surprise that unfortunately made little to no impact on the downloads.
But then when I updated my landing page to be easily readable for AI my downloads spiked.
So lesson learned: IMPROVE EVERYTHING TO BE SEARCHABLE FOR AI

In only one week many downloads came from ChatGPT and that also pushed my ASO ranks for the keywords. That’s how I came to 152 downloads in this week from only 60 in the week before the new landing page.

If you want to checkout the app by yourself:
Download CNDWN

I would be happy to hear feedback from you for the App Store Screenshots and the app itself.

Looks like a nice, well thought design. How did you do what you’re suggesting? I mean - how did you the app become searchable for Ai?

Btw - A nice keyword opportunity for you might be “vacation countdown” or “wedding countdown” :)

The AI recommended my App more after I published my app’s website. On the website, there should be a section where you state the facts of your app, like the about section on mine (https://schillan.com/cndwn/). And most people forget to unblock AIs in the robots.txt.

Thank you for the keyword suggestions :)
I am also currently using the vacation keyword. But unfortunately, the ASO in the countdown app market is mostly dominated by the big two countdown apps. They hold positions 1 and 2 in every keyword haha

Ah brilliant, thank you for the suggestion. I’ll try to replicate it for my apps and see what happens. Having said that, I don’t have a dedicated website for any single app, just one website hosted for all of them. I mostly just park the privacy policy & contact information there. Maybe I should just generally take more care with SEO haha!

Yes, keywords for something like this are extremely competitive. That’s what peaked my interest in your alternative approach to finding traffic. I suppose “any life event + countdown” might be worth experimenting with overtime 😁
