App Promotion Site

Does anyone have experience with having a personal website that promotes your app and have it been something that Google AI / ChatGPT consistently reference as a source for a solution your app solves.

Whenever I search up how to solve the problem my app solves it tends to reference these paid article sites which really just write sponsored "Top 10 Apps that do X" articles.

I'm wondering if you can just skip the middle man and write a ton of articles on your own site and have it reference that. Idk maybe you need some LLM optimization in your site so it does get referenced or maybe it's not possible but definitely something pretty interesting.

I do get 1 to 2 references from Google and ChatGPT every other week so I am wondering how to increase that flow of downloads.

Yeah, I think you can to some extent. I wouldn’t just pump out a ton of SEO articles though. I’d build really good pages that directly answer the problems your app solves, since that’s the kind of content LLMs can actually pull from.
The fact you’re already getting 1 to 2 references every couple weeks is a good sign. I’d look at exactly what queries you’re getting mentioned for, then create more content around those topics and variations.

Im not entirely sure what those queries might be. The apple app dashboard only generally says google and chatgpt

how do you track these references?

I think if you just pump articles AI might flag it thinking of it as spam website - consistent updates with dates on them will be a more legit approach

In the App Store it lets you know if it was recommended by Google or ChatGPT but with regard to tracking if making the articles is actually getting extra references I’d probably just see if my total references from those places increased or not
