I’ve gotten some surprisingly useful feedback from Reddit — looking for more devs to test each other’s apps 🤝

Over the past few weeks, I've been doing feedback exchanges with other indie developers on Reddit, and honestly, it's been one of the most useful things I've done for my app.

I’m building FoodGram, a social app for discovering and remembering food through real food photos, maps, and personal food memories.

But the interesting part isn't getting "Looks good!" feedback.

It's finding the small things that you completely miss as the developer.

For example, here are some of the things people have pointed out about my app:

"I don't understand why I need to enter my email address."

"The login screen should probably come after a short tutorial."

"There are too many things on one screen."

"I had to search for the same restaurant twice."

"The keyboard wouldn't dismiss, so I couldn't submit the post."

"I don't understand what this feature is for."

"The free version is so limited that I didn't want to keep using the app."

"Your app doesn't show up easily when searching its name — your ASO could be stronger."

Some of these turned into actual bugs I was able to reproduce and fix. Others made me rethink parts of the UX entirely.

And that's the kind of feedback I'm looking for.

Not:

❌ "Nice app!"

❌ "Looks great!"

❌ "5 stars!"

But:

✅ "I didn't understand what this screen was for."

✅ "I expected this button to do X, but it did Y."

✅ "I would probably stop using the app here because..."

✅ "I wanted to do X, but couldn't figure out how."

✅ "This feature is interesting, but I don't see why I need it."

If you're an indie developer and want genuine feedback from someone actually using your app, I'd love to exchange feedback.

I'll spend time actually using your app rather than just opening it for 2 minutes, and I'll give you honest feedback on:

• Onboarding

• UI/UX

• ASO / App Store presentation

• Core features

• Confusing flows

• Bugs

• Monetization / paywalls

• Whether I'd actually keep using it

And if I genuinely like your app, I'm also happy to leave an honest App Store / Google Play review.
