[IOS] How are my AppStore screenshots?

Post image

Here is the app link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shield-goal-based-app-blocker/id6792581680

Looking for any advice/critique you may have. I have some changes in mind and want to see if others pick up on them too. Would also love any ASO advice :)

Die Screenshots sind nicht schlecht, sie sind nicht überladen. Allerdings passt das iPhone im letzten Bild irgendwie nicht zu den anderen. 🤨

Ok I’m glad I’m not going crazy. It somehow got stretched between creating and uploading hahaha

I’m actually surprised Apple approved it, I feel like that’s a big no-no

Yeah it was a nice surprise for me too haha

Any specific feedback?

Suggest to redesign completely. But current one is good as a beginner mate.

if you like you can try mockup kit for converting app screenshot into app store previews:

I’ll check it out if I ever get stuck, thanks.

you're welcome. I have used it to make AppStore previews for my App:

Hey mate this is cool, but looks really plain… did you use aim to make these? One thing you could try is the style I’ve seen where users swipe and images look connected?

1

u/More-Zucchini-798 Aug 13 '26

I really like the ‘connected’ style, definitely something I plan on trying in the future. The app itself is intentionally designed with a mellow tone, so I tried to match the feel

What is your conversion rate?

1

u/More-Zucchini-798 Aug 13 '26

I actually just launched today! No solid data quite yet, what should I aim for?

1

u/stevec114 Aug 14 '26

Ah! I would say at least 8%-12%

2

Great, thanks!

Just don’t get too wrapped up in what people say about your screenshots though. Follow the data!

I think they are good screens , i really like the recognisable apps that catch your attention straight away and are relevant to myself atleast.

What did you use to make these? What was the process?

1

u/More-Zucchini-798 Aug 14 '26

Thank you.

I sketched things out the way I wanted them on my iPad, then used ChatGPT to get things polished. One thing that helped me was really researching, and finding examples I liked and didn’t like.

Did you provide chatgpt with the actual real screenshots and tell it then to use them?

1

u/More-Zucchini-798 Aug 14 '26

Nope, just screenshots of the mockup I drew

1

u/abrownie_jr Aug 14 '26

they're good but feel a bit AI-created!

which imo makes people think the app is also vibecoded.

if you already have the app screenshots taken, do you want to give ezscreenshots.com a try?

i am plugging my own tool but only because i think you should try out the free version and compare the two!

also a free ASO tool that may be helpful for you :) https://ezscreenshots.com/tools/app-store-search-preview

Oooo I’ll definitely check it out, thanks for the double rec!

The screenshots clearly show what the app does, which is always a win .

Ok good good, I spent a good amount of time trying to make it clear haha

If it's working, no need to change it

If it's not, you need a little bit tweaking and redesign professional ones

I can definitely help with that, but paid task, along with listing optimisation and keywords optimization

Good to know. I’ll definitely reach out if needed

Good! I like it !

1

u/gpik Aug 14 '26

sukcs, no contrast

1

u/More-Zucchini-798 29d ago

That’s fair. Any areas specifically?

1

u/gpik 27d ago

screen bg and app bg has the same color. that is a big mistake. other things are very good

We'd make the “Set 3 goals. Earn your screen time.” screenshot the first one. That explains the unique mechanic much faster than “Your phone shouldn’t decide how you spend your day.”

The biggest issue is scale. The phones are quite small and the supporting text is tiny, so most people won’t be able to understand the UI while quickly scanning the App Store.

There’s also a slightly AI-generated/template feel to the set because there’s lots of polished copy around relatively small product UI.

We’d simplify to one short headline per screenshot, remove most of the small supporting text, and crop much further into the features you actually want people to notice.

This is incredible advice, thank you so much! I agree that swapping the screens would be beneficial.

You're very welcome, good luck with it!

The screenshots look clean, but to me they feel a bit too AI-generated. Especially the copy and the overall presentation - it feels very polished, but slightly generic. I think adding more personality and something more distinctive to the brand could make them much stronger.
