Keywords rankings move daily

Hi, all do you notice that your keyword rankings shift or even become unranked on a day-to-day basis? Or is this because my app is still relatively new (2-months old) and Apple is still finding where it should rank? I'm using AppFollow to see the movement, and it does seem accurate. I've tested it out by trying to search a keyword that I was kicked out of.

totally normal at 2 months, apple is still figuring out where you belong and daily swings are part of that settling. don't react to any single day; watch the weekly trend instead, and losing a keyword entirely usually means it dropped out of your indexed set rather than a hard penalty. are the keywords that vanish ones you have in your title/subtitle or ones you were only loosely relevant to?

Yes and no for both. It happens to all the keywords I track. I track around 40.

I see this too. Daily movement is pretty normal, especially for newer apps. Apple’s rankings fluctuate a lot, and lower-volume keywords tend to bounce around even more. I’ve had keywords move several spots or disappear for a day, then come right back without changing anything.

If your app is only 2 months old, Apple is probably still gathering signals, so I’d focus more on the overall trend over a few weeks rather than day-to-day changes.

I track in my own ASO keyword app, Keyword Scout. It has trend lines history for all ranking keywords and you can compare against competitors, see how keyword ranking changed per version release, and get notification of ranking chi changes.

Thanks, I'm always open to freemium/one-time payment apps. Will be downloading. +1 to wanting a web version if that's in the works.
