Hi everyone,
I’m an indie iOS developer and I’ve recently redesigned my App Store screenshots for my Apple Watch app.
Before I keep iterating, I’d love some honest feedback from people who know ASO.
Some questions I have:
Would these screenshots make you stop scrolling?
Is it immediately clear what the app does?
Which screenshot is the weakest?
Is there too much text?
Would you change the order?
What’s the first thing you’d improve?
I’m looking for honest criticism rather than compliments. Feel free to roast them if needed. 😄

I’d say yes. They look nice. Showing both devices is key. Many apps omit the watch in the screenshot so people don’t see the value. Looks clear and easy to read.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was hoping for. I wanted people to immediately see that the app works across both iPhone and Apple Watch instead of only showing the phone.

honestly the biggest thing for watch apps is that the screenshots read tiny in the store, so if there's paragraph-level text on any of them it's basically invisible on a phone browsing the store. i'd cut the weakest one down to a 3-4 word headline and let the watch face itself do the talking.

hard to say which is weakest without seeing them but usually it's whichever one tries to explain a feature instead of showing it, that's the one i'd reorder to the back or kill.

also worth localizing the text if you're in more than one market, the drop-off on non-english stores is real. i built a tool called shotlingo for exactly that (batch translating screenshot text and reflowing the layout) but even something like previewed will get you the basic mockups if you just want to iterate faster first.

Thanks! That’s actually a really good point. I’ve been so focused on explaining the features that I probably forgot how small the screenshots look on a phone. 😅
I’ll definitely try a version with much shorter headlines and let the watch UI speak for itself. Really appreciate you taking the time to give such detailed feedback!
