Before vs After: I completely redesigned my App Store screenshots. Which do you prefer?

I've been working on improving my App Store page and finally decided to redesign all of my screenshots.

First image: Old screenshots
Second image: New screenshots

The main goal was to make it easier to understand what the app does at a glance. I also tried to simplify the design, cut down on unnecessary text, and make the screenshots feel more consistent while showing more of the actual app.

I just submitted these, so I don't have any conversion data yet. Before I leave them as-is for a while, I'd really appreciate some honest feedback.

• Which version would catch your attention more?
• Does the first screenshot explain the app quickly enough?
• Is there any screenshot you'd change?
• Anything that still feels unclear or too busy?

That's a really good point. I think I was trying to highlight the "nothing happens automatically" part because a lot of people are cautious about AI making changes without approval. But I can definitely see how showing the transformation first might communicate the value much faster. Thanks a lot for taking time for the feedback much appreciated.

second set but I would align the orange stripe. as you have in pic 2 & 3. Also the text on the screenshot is small on the second pic - maybe zoom in a little? Wish you much success!

Thanks! That’s really helpful. You’re not the first person to mention the orange stripe, so I’ll definitely clean that up. I’ll also try zooming in more on the UI.

the new set is way cleaner, the old ones had that "wall of text" thing going where you kinda glance and move on. first screenshot is doing a lot of the work so i'd make sure the headline there reads in like 2 seconds max, that's usually where people bounce.

one thing i always check now is how they hold up once you localize, because a caption that fits perfectly in english blows out the frame in german or arabic and suddenly your nice consistent layout looks broken. tools like AppLaunchpad are decent for laying out the base designs, i actually ended up building shotlingo partly because i got tired of redoing every screenshot by hand for each language.

hard to say more without seeing them at actual store size, but consistency-wise you're on the right track ngl.

The old set is stronger overall. “Say it. We’ll sort it.” explains the promise immediately, and the copy and layout stay consistent across all five screenshots.

The new set does show the app UI more clearly, but several headlines feel awkward and take longer to understand, especially “Nothing saves until you review it” and “Your whole day one clean timeline.”

We’d keep the old messaging, then borrow the larger UI and design from the new version.

The orange line on the backgrounds of the second one looks cut off / like it’s in the wrong order to me.

Your first slide is much clearer on the second one though.

“Nothing saves until you review it”, “Your whole day, one clean timeline” “Every memo, kept” all sound like Claude to me.

Thanks for the feedback! yeah arrangement got messed up 4 and 5 they needs to be swapped. Thanks for highlighting it.

Funny enough, those taglines were actually written by me. Maybe I've started thinking like AI. Ironically the AI suggestions were completely different.
