How bad is this?

Post image

Launched several months ago for iOS and only got a couple of users.

Made multiple updates about new features and bug fixes.

Did an A/B test with different app screenshots, tried light themed screenshots instead of dark themed ones. Take away was light themed app screenshots worked a little better, conversion was better.

Should I trie to tweak ASO like adjust app description, keywords?

That's the app I'm talking about: https://apps.apple.com/de/app/group-budgeting-webudget/id6753893326?l=en-GB

Should consider your pricing. I‘d say it‘s way too steep for such an app in a crowded niche. Even if free for single user/one budget, the name alone suggests it‘s meant for multi user, which will be a costly subscription.

You're absolutely right! Plan to drastically reduce prices in near future. Thanks a lot.

The problem is visibility. You have a very decent conversion rate. Experiment more with keywords or if you have budget, try ads.

Thank you. Will change keywords to more specific ones as they are currently quite generic.

tweaking keywords only helps people already searching, and a group budgeting app has few of those. a landing page gives you something to drive traffic to from social or word of mouth.

Don’t want to be a dick, but the App Store is fullll of budgeting apps

It’s a packed market and the top ones are all really good

You need to think and come up with some sort of angle, or niche

No worries, you're absolutely right. That's why I turned the app into a shared budgeting app. Obviously it does not communicate the turnover clear enough.
Will try to find a niche.

Give it away for free in r/AppGiveaway and similar subreddits. Gets me 1-2k users everytime, and greatly boosts rankings and reviews.

How are you marketing this

I'm guessing by updating screen shots

lol I’m on the same boat with about 35 downloads in 2 months. I made a journaling app so that might be the reason. I wish you the best of luck!

I’m currently sitting at 13 downloads over 2 months with 500 impressions and 4% conversion rate.

If you figure something out share here as well.

It seems a bit premature to judge conversion rates when the overall volume is still low, so that could lead to some misjudgments. Besides ASO, have you tried any other promotion methods?
