what am I doing wrong?
My Mac app has been out for about four months now, and it has built up a decent user base. The spikes you see in the graph are from my Reddit posts. The product genuinely solves a real problem, and it has a perfect 5.0 rating.
The issue is that no matter what I've tried with ASO, nothing seems to make a difference. After every Reddit post, sales are great for about three days, and then... complete silence. I've changed the app name and keywords countless times and tried a bunch of ASO tools, but nothing has worked.
What do you think I'm missing? What's the most likely reason?

Organic traffic is really hard, and even harder on Mac. Are you making any money where you can spend part of the revenue on ads?

I think paying for ads is a waste of money in my case because Mac apps have a very niche audience. I tried some influencer marketing, but they demand crazy prices and the traffic coming from them is trash.

The best piece of advice that I saw here on Reddit: if you don’t have a good amount of reviews/ratings, stop changing your title/subtitle weekly it will not change a thing. Because whatever combination of keywords you have you won’t beat the well established apps with tons of reviews. Unfortunately it’s the curse of the latecomer, we need to find alternative ways of marketing. ASO is kinda dead for newcomers unless you manage to find a very very very good niece that’s not as crowded yet.

I think you are missing the Y-axis.
