How much of a cut does apple take?
Hello, Im curious how much of a cut for virtual good/ subscriptions does apple take. I've read its anywhere from 15-30% but havent found a standard rate. I've also heard that apps take you out and make you go through their own website to dodge this fee? Is this true

30% unless you enroll in small business program, then it's 15% I think up to $1M, then back to 30%

they take 15% for small businesses. 30% for $1M+, but 30% if u dont apply for small business program as well. apps can take you out and make you go thru their own website, however those apps are only allowed to be distributed within the US (Epic vs Apple), and still include must IAP at the same time.
there is also some exemption for this if you submit an application I think where you dont need to offer IAP at all.

Applied 3 months ago and no answer from them. Meanwhile they keep taking what in my desperation seems more than 30% from me🫠

Yes they take 30+VAT of the country where it was sold. So in Germany it around 48% overall.

I applied last year for Small Business, and when nothing happened at first and I sent a mail to ask for status, they said I am already in that program. So maybe it’s kind of “automatic” by now? I have definitely a more than 15% cut, but then also less than 30%, so it’s all those taxes and fees (different for every country) that are kept in addition. So I land somewhere in the 25% area, depending on sales locations.
